“ After that you will go to Gibeah of God, where there is a Philistine outpost. As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying.

They’ll be coming down from the high place where they worship. People will be playing lyres, tambourines, flutes and harps at the head of the group. The prophets will be prophesying.

After that you shall come to Gibeath-elohim, where there is a garrison of the Philistines. And there, as soon as you come to the city, you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and lyre before them, prophesying.

And it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with a stringed instrument, a tambourine, a flute, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying.

約拿單攻打非利士人在迦巴的駐軍，非利士人聽見了；掃羅就在全地吹角，說：“讓希伯來人都聽見。”

於是掃羅派人去捉大衛。派去的人看見一群先知正在受感說話，撒母耳站著帶領他們。那時，神的靈也臨到掃羅的使者身上，他們都受感說話。

在耶利哥的先知門徒前來見以利沙，對他說：“你知道今天耶和華要接你的老師離開你嗎？”他說：“我已經知道了，你們別再多說。”

掃羅到了那山，有一班先知迎面而來。神的靈大大感動他，他就在他們中間受感說話。

大衛和軍隊的領袖，也給亞薩、希幔和耶杜頓的子孫分派了任務，叫他們用琴瑟響鈸說預言。他們任職的人數如下：亞薩的兒子有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅和亞薩利拉；亞薩的兒子都歸亞薩指揮，遵照王的旨意說預言。至於耶杜頓，他的兒子有基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅和瑪他提雅，共六人，都歸他們的父親耶杜頓指揮。耶杜頓用琴說預言，稱謝和讚美耶和華。至於希幔，他的兒子有布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、細布業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提．以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提和瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是王的先見，照著神的話高舉他（“高舉他”原文作“高舉角”）。神賜給希幔十四個兒子，三個女兒。這些人都歸他們的父親指揮，在耶和華的殿裡歌頌，用響鈸和琴瑟在神的殿事奉。亞薩、耶杜頓和希幔都是由王指揮的。

那些耶利哥的先知門徒在遠處看見，就說：“以利亞的靈在以利沙身上了。”他們就來迎接他，俯伏在地拜他。

在伯特利的先知門徒出來見以利沙，對他說：“你知道今天耶和華要接你的老師離開你嗎？”他說：“我已經知道了，你們別再多說。”

眾先知門徒對以利沙說：“請看，我們在你面前居住的那一個地方，對我們來說實在是太窄小了。

以利沙又回到吉甲，那地正發生饑荒。先知的門徒坐在他面前。他對他的僕人說：“把大鍋放在火上，給先知的門徒們煮點東西吃。”

我要留心聆聽箴言；我要彈琴解開謎語。

希幔、耶杜頓和他們一起吹號敲鈸，以及演奏各種樂器，大聲歌頌神。耶杜頓的子孫負責守門。

那些少女回答他們說：“在這裡！他就在你們前面，現在快去吧！他今天正到這城裡來，因為今天在邱壇上，人民有獻祭的事。

王又指派在耶和華殿中的利未人拿著響鈸和琴瑟，是照著大衛、王的先見迦得和拿單先知所吩咐的，就是耶和華藉他的先知所吩咐的。利未人拿著大衛的樂器，祭司持著號筒，一同站著。希西家吩咐在祭壇上獻上燔祭。開始獻燔祭的時候，就開始向耶和華歌唱，並且用號筒和以色列王大衛的樂器伴奏。

歌唱的希幔、亞薩和以探敲打銅鈸，發出響亮的聲音；撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅和比拿雅敲瑟，調用女高音；瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別．以東、耶利和亞撒西雅彈琴領導，調用男低音。

亞倫的姊姊女先知米利暗，手裡拿著鼓；所有的婦女都跟著她出來，擊鼓跳舞。米利暗應和著她們說：“你們要向耶和華歌唱，因為他高高地被高舉起來，他把馬匹和騎馬的投在海中。”

要吹角讚美他，要鼓瑟彈琴讚美他。要擊鼓跳舞讚美他，要彈奏絲弦的樂器和吹簫讚美他。要用聲音洪亮的鈸讚美他，要用聲音鏗鏘的鈸讚美他。凡有氣息的，都要讚美耶和華。你們要讚美耶和華。

領導的人是亞薩，其次是撒迦利雅、耶利、示米拉末、耶歇、瑪他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄別．以東和耶利，他們鼓瑟彈琴，亞薩敲打響鈸。

你們要追求愛，也要熱切地渴慕屬靈的恩賜，特別是先知講道的恩賜。

大衛和以色列眾人在神面前，用詩歌，以及彈琴鼓瑟、敲手鼓、響鈸和吹號，盡情歡慶。

大衛和所有抬約櫃的利未人，以及歌唱的人和歌唱的人的領袖基拿尼雅，都穿上細麻布的外袍；大衛另外穿上細麻布的以弗得。這樣，以色列人歡呼、吹角、吹號、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，大聲奏樂，把耶和華的約櫃抬了上來。
