“ After that you will go to Gibeah of God, where there is a Philistine outpost. As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying.

于是扫罗派人去捉大卫。派去的人看见一群先知正在受感说话，撒母耳站着带领他们。那时，神的灵也临到扫罗的使者身上，他们都受感说话。

在耶利哥的先知门徒前来见以利沙，对他说：“你知道今天耶和华要接你的老师离开你吗？”他说：“我已经知道了，你们别再多说。”

扫罗到了那山，有一班先知迎面而来。神的灵大大感动他，他就在他们中间受感说话。

大卫和军队的领袖，也给亚萨、希幔和耶杜顿的子孙分派了任务，叫他们用琴瑟响钹说预言。他们任职的人数如下：亚萨的儿子有撒刻、约瑟、尼探雅和亚萨利拉；亚萨的儿子都归亚萨指挥，遵照王的旨意说预言。至于耶杜顿，他的儿子有基大利、西利、耶筛亚、示每、哈沙比雅和玛他提雅，共六人，都归他们的父亲耶杜顿指挥。耶杜顿用琴说预言，称谢和赞美耶和华。至于希幔，他的儿子有布基雅、玛探雅、乌薛、细布业、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亚他、基大利提、罗幔提．以谢、约施比加沙、玛罗提、何提和玛哈秀。这些人都是希幔的儿子；希幔是王的先见，照着神的话高举他（“高举他”原文作“高举角”）。神赐给希幔十四个儿子，三个女儿。这些人都归他们的父亲指挥，在耶和华的殿里歌颂，用响钹和琴瑟在神的殿事奉。亚萨、耶杜顿和希幔都是由王指挥的。

那些耶利哥的先知门徒在远处看见，就说：“以利亚的灵在以利沙身上了。”他们就来迎接他，俯伏在地拜他。

在伯特利的先知门徒出来见以利沙，对他说：“你知道今天耶和华要接你的老师离开你吗？”他说：“我已经知道了，你们别再多说。”

众先知门徒对以利沙说：“请看，我们在你面前居住的那一个地方，对我们来说实在是太窄小了。

以利沙又回到吉甲，那地正发生饥荒。先知的门徒坐在他面前。他对他的仆人说：“把大锅放在火上，给先知的门徒们煮点东西吃。”

我要留心聆听箴言；我要弹琴解开谜语。

希幔、耶杜顿和他们一起吹号敲钹，以及演奏各种乐器，大声歌颂神。耶杜顿的子孙负责守门。

那些少女回答他们说：“在这里！他就在你们前面，现在快去吧！他今天正到这城里来，因为今天在邱坛上，人民有献祭的事。

王又指派在耶和华殿中的利未人拿着响钹和琴瑟，是照着大卫、王的先见迦得和拿单先知所吩咐的，就是耶和华藉他的先知所吩咐的。利未人拿着大卫的乐器，祭司持着号筒，一同站着。希西家吩咐在祭坛上献上燔祭。开始献燔祭的时候，就开始向耶和华歌唱，并且用号筒和以色列王大卫的乐器伴奏。

歌唱的希幔、亚萨和以探敲打铜钹，发出响亮的声音；撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、玛西雅和比拿雅敲瑟，调用女高音；玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅、俄别．以东、耶利和亚撒西雅弹琴领导，调用男低音。

亚伦的姊姊女先知米利暗，手里拿着鼓；所有的妇女都跟着她出来，击鼓跳舞。米利暗应和着她们说：“你们要向耶和华歌唱，因为他高高地被高举起来，他把马匹和骑马的投在海中。”

要吹角赞美他，要鼓瑟弹琴赞美他。要击鼓跳舞赞美他，要弹奏丝弦的乐器和吹箫赞美他。要用声音洪亮的钹赞美他，要用声音铿锵的钹赞美他。凡有气息的，都要赞美耶和华。你们要赞美耶和华。

领导的人是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、耶利、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别．以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲打响钹。

你们要追求爱，也要热切地渴慕属灵的恩赐，特别是先知讲道的恩赐。

大卫和以色列众人在神面前，用诗歌，以及弹琴鼓瑟、敲手鼓、响钹和吹号，尽情欢庆。

大卫和所有抬约柜的利未人，以及歌唱的人和歌唱的人的领袖基拿尼雅，都穿上细麻布的外袍；大卫另外穿上细麻布的以弗得。这样，以色列人欢呼、吹角、吹号、敲钹、鼓瑟、弹琴，大声奏乐，把耶和华的约柜抬了上来。
