“ After that you will go to Gibeah of God, where there is a Philistine outpost. As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying.

耶利哥的先知們從遠處看見他，就說：「以利亞的靈降在以利沙身上了。」他們就上前迎接，俯伏在他面前，

一群先知對以利沙說：「你看，我們住的地方實在太小了。

以利沙回到吉甲，那裡正鬧饑荒。一群先知坐在他面前，他吩咐僕人把一口大鍋放在火上給他們煮湯。

我要側耳聽箴言，彈琴解釋人生之謎。

希幔和耶杜頓負責用號、鈸及其他樂器伴奏歌頌上帝。耶杜頓的子孫負責守門。

她們答道：「他在這裡，就在你們前面。你們快去吧，他今天剛到城裡來，因為今天人們在邱壇獻祭。

王又分派利未人在耶和華的殿裡敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，正如大衛王、王的先見迦得和先知拿單的指示，即耶和華藉先知所吩咐的。利未人拿著大衛的樂器侍立在那裡，祭司拿著號角侍立在那裡。希西迦下令在壇上獻燔祭。開始獻燔祭時，伴隨著號角聲和以色列王大衛的樂器聲，響起了頌讚耶和華的歌聲。

歌樂手希幔、亞薩和以探負責敲銅鈸，撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅、比拿雅負責鼓瑟，調用高音。瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別·以東、耶利、亞撒西雅負責帶領彈琴，調用低音。

亞倫的姐姐米利暗是個先知，她手拿小鼓，帶領婦女擊鼓跳舞，唱道：「要歌頌耶和華，因祂大獲全勝，把馬和騎兵都拋進海中。」

要吹響號角讚美祂，要彈琴鼓瑟讚美祂！要擊鼓跳舞讚美祂，要撥弦吹笛讚美祂！要擊響鐃鈸讚美祂，用響亮的鈸聲讚美祂！凡有生命的都要讚美耶和華！你們要讚美耶和華！

為首的是亞薩，其次是撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、瑪他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄別·以東和耶利，他們鼓瑟彈琴，亞薩敲鈸。

你們要追求愛，也要切慕屬靈的恩賜，尤其是作先知講道的恩賜。

大衛和以色列眾人就在上帝面前用琴、瑟、鼓、鈸和號奏樂，盡情歌舞。

大衛和抬約櫃的利未人、歌樂手及其領班基拿尼雅都穿上細麻衣，大衛還穿上細麻布的以弗得。以色列人把耶和華的約櫃抬了上來，一路上歡呼吹角、鳴號、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，大聲奏樂。
