But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of Jehovah came upon him.

And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba; and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.

And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Jehovah, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

And when the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho over against him saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.

And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before thee: make haste now, for he is come to- day into the city; for the people have a sacrifice to- day in the high place:

And he set the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was of Jehovah by his prophets.And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt- offering upon the altar. And when the burnt- offering began, the song of Jehovah began also, and the trumpets, together with the instruments of David king of Israel.

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed, with cymbals of brass to sound aloud;and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries set to Alamoth;and Mattithiah, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed- edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps set to the Sheminith, to lead.

And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to Jehovah, for he hath triumphed gloriously; The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Praise him with trumpet sound: Praise him with psaltery and harp.Praise him with timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe.Praise him with loud cymbals: Praise him with high sounding cymbals.Let everything that hath breath praise Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah.

Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed- edom, and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;

Follow after love; yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: and David had upon him an ephod of linen.Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.
