爾之上帝、救爾出諸患難艱苦者、爾遺棄之、求立一王、今日爾當至此、循爾支派億兆、立於耶和華前。

你们今日却厌弃了救你们脱离一切灾难的神，说：‘求你立一个王治理我们。’现在你们应当按着支派、宗族都站在耶和华面前。”

你们今天却离弃了那位拯救你们脱离一切灾难和困苦的神，竟对他说：‘求你立一个王统治我们。’现在你们要按着你们的支派和家族，站在耶和华面前。”

今天你们却厌弃你们的神，就是使你们脱离一切灾祸和患难的拯救者；你们对他说：‘求你立一个王统治我们。’现在，你们要按着自己的支派和宗族，站在耶和华面前。”

你們今日卻棄絕了你們的上帝、就是那曾拯救你們脫離一切災禍、跟患難的，而你們卻對他說：「求你立一個王來管理我們。」現在你們要按族派族系都站立在永恆主面前。』

今天你們卻厭棄你們的神，就是使你們脫離一切災禍和患難的拯救者；你們對他說：『求你立一個王統治我們。』現在，你們要按著自己的支派和宗族，站在耶和華面前。」

爾之天主、救爾於諸患難艱苦者、爾曹竟棄之、曰、求爾立一王治理我、今當至此、循爾支派宗族、立於主前、

But you have now rejected your God, who saves you out of all your disasters and calamities. And you have said,‘ No, appoint a king over us.’ So now present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and clans.”

But now you have turned your backs on your God. He saves you out of all your trouble and suffering. In spite of that, you have said,‘ We refuse to listen. Place a king over us.’ So now gather together to meet with the Lord. Do it tribe by tribe and family group by family group.”

But today you have rejected your God, who saves you from all your calamities and your distresses, and you have said to him,‘ Set a king over us.’ Now therefore present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and by your thousands.”

But though I have rescued you from your misery and distress, you have rejected your God today and have said,‘ No, we want a king instead!’ Now, therefore, present yourselves before the Lord by tribes and clans.”

But today you have rejected your God, who saves you from all your troubles and afflictions. You said to him,‘ You must set a king over us.’ Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes and clans.”

But today you have rejected your God, who saves you from all your catastrophes and your distresses; yet you have said,‘ No, but put a king over us!’ Now then, present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and by your groups of thousands.”

But you have today rejected your God, who Himself saved you from all your adversities and your tribulations; and you have said to Him,‘ No, set a king over us!’ Now therefore, present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and by your clans.”

爾見亞捫王拿轄攻爾、爾則請我、為爾立王、不知爾上帝耶和華為爾之王。

約書亞集以色列各支派至示劍、召諸長老、牧伯、刑官、族長、咸至上帝前。

民不聽從撒母耳言、曰、我欲得王、

詰朝、必使各支派至而掣籤、其中我取一支派、必使各族至、其中我取一族、必使各家至、其中我取一家、必使各人至、我取其人、既藏所獻之物、則必爇之、與凡所有、緣背我約、行不端於以色列族中。約書亞夙興、使以色列各支派至、製籤而取猶大、使猶大各族至、而取西喇、使西喇各家至、而取颯底、使其家各人至、而取猶大支派、西喇曾孫、颯底孫、迦米子亞干。約書亞告亞干曰、吾子宜尊耶和華、以色列之上帝、任過於其前、以所行告我、勿隱。亞干曰、我之所行、果犯罪耶和華、以色列之上帝。我見於貨財中、自示拿至之美衣、銀百兩、金片二十五兩、則貪而取之、今在幕中、藏於地、銀置於下。約書亞遣人趨幕、果在幕中、銀置於下。攜至約書亞、及以色列族、置於耶和華前。約書亞暨以色列族、取西喇孫亞干、與金銀衣服、及子女、牛羊、驢幕、與凡所有、至亞割谷。約書亞曰、爾何貽禍於我、今日耶和華必禍爾。時以色列族擊之以石、爇之以火、堆石為岡、以掩其上、至今猶存。於是耶和華息其烈怒、人名其地亞割谷、至於今日尚有此稱。

撒母耳聞民欲立王、以治其事、意甚不悅、禱於耶和華。耶和華諭之曰、可從民言、彼不第棄爾、乃亦棄我、不欲我治理之。越在疇昔、我導斯民出於埃及、迄於今日、彼常棄我、服事他上帝、彼之待爾亦若是。今可從其言、加以訓誨、示以王之常例。

惟爾伯利恆、以法大、在猶大郡中、雖為卑微、然將有君於爾是出、代我牧以色列民、亙古以來即有之、顯著者屢矣。

今值麥秋、我呼籲耶和華、彼將使雷震雨降、令爾知爾欲立王、已干大戾於耶和華前。撒母耳遂籲耶和華、是日雷震雨降、民甚畏耶和華、亦懼撒母耳、告撒母耳曰、昔蹈罪愆者屢矣、今欲立王、愈形不善、故代我祈爾之上帝耶和華、免我死亡。
