After some time, Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, because she said,“ I requested him from the Lord.”

So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying,“ Because I asked the Lord for him.”

So after some time, Hannah became pregnant. She had a baby boy. She said,“ I asked the Lord for him.” So she named him Samuel.

And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said,“ I have asked for him from the Lord.”

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, meaning,“ God has made me forget all my hardship in my father’s house.”And the second son he named Ephraim, meaning,“ God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”

When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses,“ Because,” she said,“ I drew him out of the water.”

She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

When he brought them to his mother Leah, Rachel asked,“ Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”But Leah replied to her,“ Isn’t it enough that you have taken my husband? Now you also want to take my son’s mandrakes?”“ Well,” Rachel said,“ you can sleep with him tonight in exchange for your son’s mandrakes.”When Jacob came in from the field that evening, Leah went out to meet him and said,“ You must come with me, for I have hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” So Jacob slept with her that night.God listened to Leah, and she conceived and bore Jacob a fifth son.Leah said,“ God has rewarded me for giving my slave to my husband,” and she named him Issachar.Then Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son.“ God has given me a good gift,” Leah said.“ This time my husband will honor me because I have borne six sons for him,” and she named him Zebulun.Later, Leah bore a daughter and named her Dinah.

Then Leah stopped having children.

Then the Angel of the Lord said to her: You have conceived and will have a son. You will name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard your cry of affliction.

And he named him Noah, saying,“ This one will bring us relief from the agonizing labor of our hands, caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.”

Adam was intimate with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, for she said,“ God has given me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”
