For this reason the gospel was also preached to those who are now dead, so that, although they might be judged by men in the fleshly realm, they might live by God in the spiritual realm.

是以福音曾宣於死者、使其身如人而受鞫、其靈依上帝而得生、○

已死之人、曾聞福音、其身為人所害、其神為上帝所救、

是以福音亦傳於死者、使其身按世人受審、審或作刑靈魂賴天主得生、使其身按世人受審靈魂賴天主得生原文作使其以身受審判依人以神得生依天主

且已亡之人、亦何為能聞福音乎？蓋使若輩身雖因人而死、靈則得以托主而生耳。

For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

That’s why the good news was preached even to people who are now dead. It was preached to them for two reasons. It was preached so that their bodies might be judged. This judgment is made by human standards. But the good news was also preached so that their spirits might live. This life comes by means of God’s power.

For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead— so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.

We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also.But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us,made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!

You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.

In that state He also went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison

“ I assure you: An hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.For just as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted to the Son to have life in Himself.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, equip yourselves also with the same resolve— because the one who suffered in the flesh has finished with sin—in order to live the remaining time in the flesh, no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.

If we were properly evaluating ourselves, we would not be judged,but when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, so that we may not be condemned with the world.

Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit.

“ Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name.

Yet another angel, who had authority over fire, came from the altar, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle,“ Use your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from earth’s vineyard, because its grapes have ripened.”

For through the law I have died to the law, so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ
