是以福音曾宣於死者、使其身如人而受鞫、其靈依上帝而得生、○

已死之人、曾聞福音、其身為人所害、其神為上帝所救、

是以福音亦傳於死者、使其身按世人受審、審或作刑靈魂賴天主得生、使其身按世人受審靈魂賴天主得生原文作使其以身受審判依人以神得生依天主

且已亡之人、亦何為能聞福音乎？蓋使若輩身雖因人而死、靈則得以托主而生耳。

For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

That’s why the good news was preached even to people who are now dead. It was preached to them for two reasons. It was preached so that their bodies might be judged. This judgment is made by human standards. But the good news was also preached so that their spirits might live. This life comes by means of God’s power.

For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead— so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.

For this reason the gospel was also preached to those who are now dead, so that, although they might be judged in the flesh according to human standards, they might live in the spirit according to God’s standards.

因為生命之靈的律在基督耶穌裡使我自由，脫離了罪和死的律。

我們從前也是無知、不順服、受了迷惑、被各種私慾和逸樂所奴役，生活在惡毒和嫉妒之中，是可憎可惡的，並且互相仇視。然而，到了神我們的救主顯明他的恩慈和憐愛的時候，他就救了我們，並不是由於我們所行的義，而是照著他的憐憫，藉著重生的洗和聖靈的更新。聖靈就是神藉著我們的救主耶穌基督豐豐富富澆灌在我們身上的，使我們既然因著他的恩典得稱為義，就可以憑著永生的盼望成為後嗣。

我們從前也都和他們在一起，放縱肉體的私慾，隨著肉體和心意所喜好的去行；我們與別人一樣，生來都是可怒的兒女。然而神滿有憐憫，因著他愛我們的大愛，就在我們因過犯死了的時候，使我們與基督一同活過來，（你們得救是靠著恩典，）

神的靈既然住在你們裡面，你們就不是屬於肉體，而是屬於聖靈的了。如果人沒有基督的靈，就不是屬於基督的。基督若在你們裡面，你們的身體因著罪的緣故是死的，而聖靈卻因著義的緣故賜給你們生命。如果那使耶穌從死人中復活者的靈住在你們裡面，那使基督從死人中復活的，也必藉著住在你們裡面的聖靈，使你們必死的身體活過來。

他藉這靈也曾去向那些在監管中的靈宣講，

我實實在在告訴你們，時候將到，現在就是了，死人要聽見神兒子的聲音，聽見的人就要活了。就如父是生命的源頭，照樣他也使子成為生命的源頭，

基督既然在肉身受過苦，你們也應當以同樣的心志裝備自己（因為在肉身受過苦的，就已經與罪斷絕了），好叫你們不再隨從人的私慾，只順從神的旨意，在世上度餘下的光陰。

我們若仔細省察自己，就不會受審判了。然而我們被主審判的時候，是受他的管教，免得和世人一同被定罪。

如果我們靠聖靈活著，就應該順著聖靈行事。

那時人要把你們送去受苦，也要殺害你們，你們要因我的名被萬民恨惡。

接著，又有一位天使從祭壇那裡出來，是有權柄掌管火的；他向那拿著鋒利鐮刀的天使大聲說：“伸出你鋒利的鐮刀來，收取地上葡萄樹纍纍的果子吧！因為葡萄已經熟透了。”

我藉著律法已經向律法死了，使我可以向神活著。
