As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires,to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image– in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.But“ when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared,he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior.And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.”This saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on such truths, so that those who have placed their faith in God may be intent on engaging in good works. These things are good and beneficial for all people.

And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised.

So you too consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

not like those who do their work only when someone is watching– as people- pleasers– but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.

Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

Like obedient children, do not comply with the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance,

among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest…

Therefore do not be partakers with them,for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light–

So I say this, and insist in the Lord, that you no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God.I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

You also lived your lives in this way at one time, when you used to live among them.But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

Teach me to do what pleases you, for you are my God. May your kind presence lead me into a level land.

For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

For none of us lives for himself and none dies for himself.

in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God– what is good and well- pleasing and perfect.

By his sovereign plan he gave us birth through the message of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

or to governors as those he commissions to punish wrongdoers and praise those who do good.For God wants you to silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.

– children not born by human parents or by human desire or a husband’s decision, but by God.

Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave of Christ, greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise by understanding what the Lord’s will is.

Which of the two did his father’s will?” They said,“ The first.” Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the truth, tax collectors and prostitutes will go ahead of you into the kingdom of God!

For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder,

At Adam they broke the covenant; Oh how they were unfaithful to me!

“ Not everyone who says to me,‘ Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven– only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God.

For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you, have not ceased praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

equip you with every good thing to do his will, working in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
