tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;

And that servant, who knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not.Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.But I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment, than for you.And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt go down unto Hades: for if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in thee, it would have remained until this day.But I say unto you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

For if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than that of Abel.See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven:

I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you.

and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.And even now the axe lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities.

Ye were running well; who hindered you that ye should not obey the truth?

For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation;

God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by manifold powers, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will.

O foolish Galatians, who did bewitch you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth crucified?

For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, they to whom it pertained not to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink.
