爾等若果因基督之名而受唾罵、福莫大焉！蓋誠能如此、則光榮大能之聖神、天主之聖神、以爾為安宅矣。

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

Suppose people say bad things about you because you believe in Christ. Then you are blessed, because God’s Spirit rests on you. He is the Spirit of glory.

having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.

“ Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God:

But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.

For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

With which your enemies have mocked, Yahweh, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.

Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders. Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.

When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho facing him saw him, they said,“ The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

when he comes in that day to be glorified in his saints and to be admired among all those who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith with power,that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Then the Jews answered him,“ Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”

The Pharisees therefore answered them,“ You aren’t also led astray, are you?Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?But this multitude that doesn’t know the law is cursed.”Nicodemus( he who came to him by night, being one of them) said to them,“ Does our law judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?”They answered him,“ Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”

Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

So they glorified God in me.

They think it is strange that you don’t run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming.They will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.

Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.
