親愛的，別以你們中間的火煉、那加在你們身上來試驗你們的、為奇怪，而以為有希奇的事臨到了你們。

亲爱的弟兄啊，有火炼的试验临到你们，不要以为奇怪（似乎是遭遇非常的事），

各位蒙愛的人哪，當火一樣的考驗臨到你們中間，給你們試煉的時候，你們不要感到奇怪，好像發生了怪異的事。

愛友乎、若遇火煉之試、勿以為不測而奇之、

凡我良朋、勿異爾所歷之煉試、以為非常、

可愛者乎、爾今遇火鍊試爾、勿異之以為遭非常之事、

親愛之同道乎、爾等之受煆煉、所以玉汝於成、切勿大驚小怪、一若遭遇不測也者。

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

Dear friends, don’t be surprised by the terrible things happening to you. The trouble you are having has come to test you. So don’t feel as if something strange were happening to you.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you:

在這種情形裏、你們有歡樂，雖則現在暫時在各種試煉中或者有憂愁。這是要叫你們的信心被試驗為及格的、比那經火試驗還能銷滅的金子更寶貴得多多的、可以在耶穌基督顯示之時見為蒙受稱讚榮耀和尊重的。

是的，凡立志要在基督耶穌裏敬虔度生活的、都會遭受到逼迫的。

而打發提摩太、在基督的福音上做我們的兄弟、做上帝同工的、為着你們信心的益處、去使你們堅固，去鼓勵你們，免得有人在這些患難中被誘動；因為你們自己也知道，我們是被派定而受苦的。我們在你們那裏的時候，就屢次先告訴你們說、我們將會受患難；事實正如所說的，你們也知道。

你們要抵擋他，要在信心上堅固，知道世界上跟你們一同信主的弟兄姊妹、也正付着同樣受苦之經驗的代價呢。

通達人之中有些仆倒的，那是要在其餘的人中間施行鍛鍊磨淨洗白的工夫，直到末了時期，因為到了定期、結局還是來到。

那臨到了你們的試煉、無非是人類所受得了的。上帝是可信可靠，他必不讓你們受試煉、過於你們所能受的；他乃是要連同試煉、開造出路來，使你們能擔受得起。

因為永恆主必興起，像在毘拉心山；他必發怒，像在基遍谷，好作他的工，不平凡的工，好成他的事，奇異的事。

每一個人的建築物必顯出來：那日子必指明它是在火裏被顯露的：每一個人的建築物是哪一種、火必試驗出來。

在這種情形裏、他們奇怪你們不一齊奔跑於同樣放蕩之溢流中，就毁謗你們；
