like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.

Sarah was like that. She obeyed Abraham. She called him her master. Do you want to be like her? Then do what is right. And don’t give in to fear.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king,“ O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying,“ You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”But he denied it before them all, saying,“ I do not know what you are saying.”And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there,“ This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”But again he denied with an oath,“ I do not know the Man!”And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter,“ Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.”Then he began to curse and swear, saying,“ I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him,“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.

nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but,“ In Isaac your seed shall be called.”That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.For this is the word of promise:“ At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.”

“ And of whom have you been afraid, or feared, That you have lied And not remembered Me, Nor taken it to your heart? Is it not because I have held My peace from of old That you do not fear Me?

But Sarah denied it, saying,“ I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said,“ No, but you did laugh!”

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,“ Rulers of the people and elders of Israel:If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.This is the‘ stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed.“ And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman.But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise,which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar—for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children—but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.
