古昔聖女、上帝是望、亦以是自飾、服於其夫、

維昔淑女、上帝是賴、以此自飾、亦順其夫、

古昔仰賴天主之聖女、亦以此自飾、而服於其夫、

在昔懿德之婦、亦莫不以此自飾、仰望天主、敬事其夫。

For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands,

又要劝年长的妇女在操守上恭正，不说谗言，不作酒的奴隶，用善道教导人，好指教年轻的妇女爱丈夫，爱儿女，

独居无靠的真寡妇只仰赖上帝，昼夜不住地祈求祷告。

因为看见了你们敬虔纯洁的品行。你们不要藉外表来妆饰自己，如编头发，戴金饰，穿美丽的衣裳等，而要有蕴藏在人内心不衰退的美，以温柔娴静的心妆饰自己；这在上帝面前是极宝贵的。

还有曾被邪灵所附，被疾病所缠，而已经治好的几个妇女，其中有称为抹大拉的马利亚，曾有七个鬼从她身上赶出来，又有希律的管家苦撒的妻子约亚拿，和苏撒拿以及好些别的妇女，她们都是用自己的财物供给耶稣和使徒。

在约帕有一个女门徒，名叫大比大，翻出来的意思是多加；她广行善事，多施周济。

就寡居了，现在已经八十四岁。她不离开圣殿，禁食祈求，昼夜事奉上帝。

魅力是虚假的，美貌是虚浮的；惟敬畏耶和华的妇女必得称赞。

哈拿祷告说：“我的心因耶和华快乐，我的角因耶和华高举。我的口向仇敌张开；我因你的救恩欢欣。

又有行善的名声，就如养育儿女，收留外人，洗圣徒的脚，救济遭难的人，竭力行各样善事。

这些人和几个妇人，包括耶稣的母亲马利亚，和耶稣的兄弟，都同心合意地恒切祷告。

然而，女人若持守信心、爱心，又圣洁克制，就必藉着生产而得救。

要有善行，这才与自称为敬畏上帝的女人相称。

因着信，撒拉自己已过了生育的年龄还能怀孕，因为她认为应许她的那位是可信的；

你撇下孤儿，我必保全他们的性命；你的寡妇可以倚靠我。

才德的妇人谁能得着呢？她的价值远胜过宝石。
