維昔淑女、上帝是賴、以此自飾、亦順其夫、

古昔仰賴天主之聖女、亦以此自飾、而服於其夫、

在昔懿德之婦、亦莫不以此自飾、仰望天主、敬事其夫。

照样，劝年老的妇女行为要敬虔，不说谗言，不被酒奴役，用善道教导人，好提醒年轻的妇女爱丈夫爱儿女，

那无依无靠独居的寡妇，她们仰望神，昼夜不住地祈求祷告。

因为他们看见了你们敬畏和纯洁的生活。不要单注重外表的装饰，就如鬈头发、戴金饰、穿华丽衣服；却要在里面存着温柔安静的心灵，作不能毁坏的装饰，这在神面前是极宝贵的。

还有几个蒙了医治、脱离污鬼与疾病的妇女，其中有称为抹大拉的马利亚，曾有七个鬼从她身上赶出来；有希律的管家古撒的妻子约亚拿，又有苏珊娜，和许多别的妇女，她们都用自己的财物供给耶稣和门徒。

在约帕有一个女门徒，名叫戴比莎，希腊话叫多加；她为人乐善好施。

就寡居了，直到八十四岁（“就寡居了，直到八十四岁”或译：“就寡居了八十四年”）。她没有离开过圣殿，以禁食和祷告昼夜事奉主。

艷丽是虚假的，美容是虚浮的；唯有敬畏耶和华的妇女，必得称赞。

哈拿祷告说：“我的心因耶和华喜乐，我的角因耶和华高举，我的口向仇敌大大夸耀，因为我以你的救恩为乐。

并且要有善行的见证：就如养育儿女，接待客旅，替圣徒洗脚，救济困苦的人，尽力行各样的善事等。

这些人和几个妇女，耶稣的母亲马利亚，还有他的兄弟们，都在一起，同心地恒切祷告。

然而女人要是常常存着信心、爱心、圣洁自律，在她生育的事上必定得救。

却要以善行作装饰，这才配称为敬畏神的女人。

因着信，甚至撒拉，她虽然过了生育的年龄，还是能够怀孕，因为她认为那应许她的是信实的。

没有人会说：‘你撇下你的孤儿，我必使他们存活；你的寡妇可以倚靠我。’”

有才德的妻子，谁能得着呢？她的价值远胜过红宝石。
