實際上，從前盼望神的那些聖潔婦女，也是這樣裝飾自己，服從自己丈夫的；

古昔聖女、上帝是望、亦以是自飾、服於其夫、

維昔淑女、上帝是賴、以此自飾、亦順其夫、

古昔仰賴天主之聖女、亦以此自飾、而服於其夫、

在昔懿德之婦、亦莫不以此自飾、仰望天主、敬事其夫。

For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands,

劝年长的妇女要过敬虔的生活，不说长道短，不做酒的奴隶，要以身作则。这样，她们就能教导年轻的妇女爱丈夫、爱儿女、

真正有需要、无依无靠的寡妇仰赖上帝的帮助，昼夜不住地祷告祈求。

还有几个曾被邪灵和疾病缠身、现在已被医治的妇女。其中有抹大拉的玛丽亚，耶稣曾经从她身上赶出七个鬼，还有希律的管家苦撒的妻子约亚拿，此外还有苏撒拿等其他妇女。她们用自己的钱财资助耶稣和门徒。

在约帕有个乐善好施的女信徒名叫戴碧达，希腊话叫多加，意思是“羚羊”。

艳丽是虚假的，美貌是短暂的，唯有敬畏耶和华的女子配得称赞。

哈娜祷告说：“我的心因耶和华而欢喜，我的力量因耶和华而倍增，我的口向敌人夸耀，我因耶和华的拯救而快乐。

并且在善事上有好名声，如教养儿女、接待外人、服侍圣徒、救助困苦、竭力做各种善事。

他们和耶稣的母亲玛丽亚、耶稣的弟弟们及几个妇女在一起同心合意地恒切祷告。

不过，女人如果持守信心和爱心，圣洁自律，就必在生育的事上得救。

要有良好的行为，这样才配称为敬畏上帝的妇女。

撒拉过了生育年龄后凭信心仍然得到了孕育后代的能力，因为她认定赐她应许的上帝言出必行。

撇下你们的孤儿吧！我必使他们存活；你们的寡妇也可以倚靠我。”

谁能找到贤德之妻？她的价值远胜过珠宝。
