但須一心仰望基督作爾聖主。人若問爾、何以懷此望德、則侃侃而對、說明緣由；惟亦須以溫和恭敬之態度為之。

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect;

Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.

seeing your pure behavior in fear.

Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Yahweh concerning all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he did to you and to your fathers.

to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, was made a servant.

Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection— not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God,

but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house. We are his house, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.

Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,“ You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,may it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands here before you whole in him.He is‘ the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

Produce your cause,” says Yahweh.“ Bring out your strong reasons!” says the King of Jacob.

I will also speak of your statutes before kings, and will not be disappointed.

“ Come now, and let’s reason together,” says Yahweh:“ Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,

but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the middle of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.

Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you didn’t believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

As he reasoned about righteousness, self- control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered,“ Go your way for this time, and when it is convenient for me, I will summon you.”

If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear,

Then Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying,“ Yahweh sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey Yahweh your God’s voice; then Yahweh will relent from the evil that he has pronounced against you.But as for me, behold, I am in your hand. Do with me what is good and right in your eyes.Only know for certain that, if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, on this city, and on its inhabitants; for in truth Yahweh has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.”Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets:“ This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of Yahweh our God.”

because in the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, to honor me as holy at the waters before their eyes.”( These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

but Yahweh of Armies is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
