For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

故曰、凡欲愛生而見佳日者、宜禁其舌於惡、其口於譎、

凡欲得生而有福、當捫舌勿言惡、緘口勿詭譎、

經載云、凡欲得生而平康度日者、則當捫舌勿言惡、守口無詭詐、

聖詠有之、『人欲善其生、長度康樂日：守舌毋惡言、緘口絕詭譎；

For,“ Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.

Scripture says,“ Suppose someone wants to love life and see good days. Then they must keep their tongues from speaking evil. They must keep their lips from telling lies.

For“ Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;

For the Scriptures say,“ If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.

For the one who wants to love life and to see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit,

For,“ The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

For“ He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.

What man[ is he that] desireth life,[ and] loveth[ many] days, that he may see good?Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.The eyes of the LORD[ are] upon the righteous, and his ears[ are open] unto their cry.The face of the LORD[ is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion[ is] vain.

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same[ is] a perfect man,[ and] able also to bridle the whole body.Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.Behold also the ships, which though[ they be] so great, and[ are] driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!And the tongue[ is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:But the tongue can no man tame;[ it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

For they[ are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

She[ is] a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy[ is every one] that retaineth her.

And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good?[ there is] none good but one,[ that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

But blessed[ are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous[ men] have desired to see[ those things] which ye see, and have not seen[ them]; and to hear[ those things] which ye hear, and have not heard[ them].

I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what[ was] that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.

He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

O remember that my life[ is] wind: mine eye shall no more see good.The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no[ more]: thine eyes[ are] upon me, and I[ am] not.

For it[ is] not a vain thing for you; because it[ is] your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong[ your] days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

[ I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
