聖詠有之、『人欲善其生、長度康樂日：守舌毋惡言、緘口絕詭譎；

因为经上说：“人若爱生命，愿享美福，须要禁止舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话；

因为经上说：“凡要爱惜生命、享受好日子的人，要禁止舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话。

因为经上说：“凡要爱惜生命、享受好日子的人，要禁止舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话。

因为圣经上说：“若有人热爱生命，渴望幸福，就要舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话。

因为“凡希望享受人生，要看见好日子的，就要禁止舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话；

要知道，“那愿意爱惜生命、愿意见到好日子的人，要停止舌头出恶言，不让嘴唇说诡诈的话；

要知道，「那願意愛惜生命、願意見到好日子的人，要停止舌頭出惡言，不讓嘴唇說詭詐的話；

故曰、凡欲愛生而見佳日者、宜禁其舌於惡、其口於譎、

凡欲得生而有福、當捫舌勿言惡、緘口勿詭譎、

經載云、凡欲得生而平康度日者、則當捫舌勿言惡、守口無詭詐、

For,“ Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.

Scripture says,“ Suppose someone wants to love life and see good days. Then they must keep their tongues from speaking evil. They must keep their lips from telling lies.

For“ Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;

For the Scriptures say,“ If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.

For the one who wants to love life and to see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit,

For,“ The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

For“ He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.

For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:

For the one who wants to love life and to see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit,

For,“ He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

願將敬主道。諄諄誨子姪。授爾立身法。傳爾壽康訣。謹守爾之舌。莠言愼毋說。謹守爾之唇。詭詐愼毋出。棄惡勉行善。和睦最可悅。主目所樂視。賢者之行實。主耳所樂聽。賢者之陳述。

若有人自以為虔誠、而不能自制其舌、是為欺心之人、其虔誠偽也。

基督平生未犯一罪、口無欺人之言、

是宜痛絕一切惡意、欺詐、虛偽忮心、譖謗、

且平生不作誑語、實無玷之碧玉也。

耶穌見納大那來訪、指之曰：『此誠義塞人、心無詭譎者！』

兄弟中多有好為人師者、是亦謬甚。應知為師者、責任最重。蓋吾輩之過失、不一而足、如能慎言、以免口過、則庶幾矣。若而人者、亦可謂能自勒其口、而自主其身者矣。吾人如置勒馬口、則馬身之駕馭、無不如意。舟身雖大、且為暴風所驅、而舵師宴然把一小舵、亦能駕駛自如。舌在人身、亦復如是其形雖小、其誇實大。星星之火、可以燎原；舌猶火也、亦眾惡之府也；深藏我百體之中、而玷污我七尺之軀、引上地獄之火、而焚燬我生命之輪。一切飛禽走獸、爬蟲鱗介、皆可馴服、且已為人類所馴服矣。惟此三寸之舌、竟無人能馴服之；其惡不息、其毒無比。吾人所用以讚美天主者舌也；所用以咒詛人者、亦舌也；然而人固天主之肖像也。兄弟乎讚美與咒詛、同出一口、有是理乎？

耶穌曰：『奚為以善見詢？善者惟一。雖然、爾欲臻於常生、則守誡尚矣。』

然福哉爾目、以有見故。福哉爾耳、以有聞故。我實語爾、古之先知義士、咸欲睹爾之所睹、而不獲睹、欲聞爾之所聞、而不獲聞也。

俾我親沾。天民之福。俾我同享。帝族之樂。爾國發榮。吾心乃足。

欲救其生者、將喪其生；為予及福音而舍其生者、終必獲生。

一生圖安樂。人謂善求福。

深信在人世。重得見春光。

終為一粒、既化則結實累累矣。惜其生者失其生、惟在世不惜其生者、能保之以達永生。
