When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

People shouted at him and made fun of him. But he didn’t do the same thing back to them. When he suffered, he didn’t say he would make them suffer. Instead, he trusted in the God who judges fairly.

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,

But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, To repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said,“ Father,‘ into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last.

The place in the Scripture which he read was this:“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”So the eunuch answered Philip and said,“ I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

Those also who seek my life lay snares for me; Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction, And plan deception all the day long.But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.Thus I am like a man who does not hear, And in whose mouth is no response.

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Then the Jews answered and said to Him,“ Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”Jesus answered,“ I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

Then Jesus said,“ Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying,“ He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine,and saying,“ If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying,“ If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”

Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing.

before the Lord. For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.

Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying,“ Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?”And many other things they blasphemously spoke against Him.

which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer;

because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their headsand saying,“ You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said,“ He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him.He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.

and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus,“ Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.Then Pilate said to Him,“ Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?”Jesus answered,“ You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying,“ Aha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,save Yourself, and come down from the cross!”Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said,“ He saved others; Himself He cannot save.Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.

God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.

And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, saying,“ Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him,“ Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying,“ Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
