When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

People shouted at him and made fun of him. But he didn’t do the same thing back to them. When he suffered, he didn’t say he would make them suffer. Instead, he trusted in the God who judges fairly.

When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.

He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well- doing unto a faithful Creator.

For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.

And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness,

Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The helpless committeth himself unto thee; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.

For which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day.

And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the ghost.

Now the passage of the scripture which he was reading was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, So he openeth not his mouth:In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: His generation who shall declare? For his life is taken from the earth.And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other?And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this scripture, preached unto him Jesus.

Into thy hand I commend my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.

And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon called Faithful and True; and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, And meditate deceits all the day long.But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

But Saul, yet breathing threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, and forbear threatening: knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

The Jews answered and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?Jesus answered, I have not a demon; but I honor my Father, and ye dishonor me.

not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And parting his garments among them, they cast lots.And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also scoffed at him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen.And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, offering him vinegar,and saying, If thou art the King of the Jews, save thyself.And there was also a superscription over him, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.And one of the malefactors that were hanged railed on him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? save thyself and us.

And he questioned him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

Before Jehovah; for he cometh, For he cometh to judge the earth: He will judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with his truth.

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.

which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

inasmuch as he hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads,and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.In like manner also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,He saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him.He trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God.And the robbers also that were crucified with him cast upon him the same reproach.

and he entered into the Prætorium again, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.Pilate therefore saith unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to release thee, and have power to crucify thee?Jesus answered him, Thou wouldest have no power against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath greater sin.

God is a righteous judge, Yea, a God that hath indignation every day.

And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon the Lord, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
