因為人如果為了在神面前良心的緣故，在不公正的苦害中忍受憂患，這是可稱讚的；

緣有對上帝之良、雖受枉而忍憂、則見納矣、

爾受枉、緣上帝而忍之、則可嘉矣、

人具良心畏天主、受枉而能忍、或作人受屈枉因天主而忍之是為可嘉、

凡橫逆之來、如能懷念天主而忍受之、斯可嘉矣。

For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.

Suppose a person suffers pain unfairly because they want to obey God. This is worthy of praise.

For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.

For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.

For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person endures grief when suffering unjustly.

For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.

For this[ is] thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

For this finds God’s favor, if because of conscience toward God someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.

For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

For what credit is there if you sin and are punished, and you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.

If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.

Those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.“ You are blessed when they insult and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience.

But they will do all these things to you on account of My name, because they don’t know the One who sent Me.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed,but honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame.For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
