Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

People who don’t believe might say you are doing wrong. But lead good lives among them. Then they will see your good deeds. And they will give glory to God on the day he comes to judge.

Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for[ his] mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we[ be] brethren.

If any man speak,[ let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister,[ let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

[ Let your] conversation[ be] without covetousness;[ and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Likewise, ye wives,[ be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;While they behold your chaste conversation[ coupled] with fear.

Blessed[ be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation[ which] shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on[ his] face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

But when the multitudes saw[ it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.

Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

For we have found this man[ a] pestilent[ fellow], and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
