You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

Because you know all this, you have great joy. You have joy even though you may have had to suffer for a little while. You may have had to suffer sadness in all kinds of trouble.

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.

Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will personally restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little.

We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.

Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify Him.

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

Dear friends, don’t be surprised when the fiery ordeal comes among you to test you as if something unusual were happening to you.Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of the Messiah, so that you may also rejoice with great joy at the revelation of His glory.

Many adversities come to the one who is righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

For I think God has displayed us, the apostles, in last place, like men condemned to die: We have become a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men.We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!Up to the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty; we are poorly clothed, roughly treated, homeless;we labor, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;when we are slandered, we respond graciously. Even now, we are like the world’s garbage, like the dirt everyone scrapes off their sandals.

I am weary from grief; strengthen me through Your word.

So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will rob you of your joy.

“ Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

strengthening the disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith and by telling them,“ It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.”

Be miserable and mourn and weep. Your laughter must change to mourning and your joy to sorrow.

And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.

However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

so that the genuineness of your faith— more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

Endure suffering as discipline: God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?But if you are without discipline— which all receive— then you are illegitimate children and not sons.Furthermore, we had natural fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?For they disciplined us for a short time based on what seemed good to them, but He does it for our benefit, so that we can share His holiness.No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the fruit of peace and righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Come, let us shout joyfully to the Lord, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation!

If I said,“ I will forget my complaint, change my expression, and smile,”I would still live in terror of all my pains. I know You will not acquit me.

Women received their dead— they were raised to life again. Some men were tortured, not accepting release, so that they might gain a better resurrection,and others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawed in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, destitute, afflicted, and mistreated.The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and on mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.

The brother of humble circumstances should boast in his exaltation,

Hannah prayed: My heart rejoices in the Lord; my horn is lifted up by the Lord. My mouth boasts over my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation.

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us.We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus’ life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.

Now the end of all things is near; therefore, be serious and disciplined for prayer.

For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.

Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust Him and not be afraid, for Yah, the Lord, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.”You will joyfully draw water from the springs of salvation,

But He said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,

Insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. I waited for sympathy, but there was none; for comforters, but found no one.

For we are the circumcision, the ones who serve by the Spirit of God, boast in Christ Jesus, and do not put confidence in the flesh—

as grieving yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing yet possessing everything.

Are they servants of Christ? I’m talking like a madman— I’m a better one: with far more labors, many more imprisonments, far worse beatings, near death many times.Five times I received 39 lashes from Jews.Three times I was beaten with rods by the Romans. Once I was stoned by my enemies. Three times I was shipwrecked. I have spent a night and a day in the open sea.On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the open country, dangers on the sea, and dangers among false brothers;labor and hardship, many sleepless nights, hunger and thirst, often without food, cold, and lacking clothing.

Even if He causes suffering, He will show compassion according to His abundant, faithful love.For He does not enjoy bringing affliction or suffering on mankind.

I know, Lord, that Your judgments are just and that You have afflicted me fairly.

so that I may declare all Your praises. I will rejoice in Your salvation within the gates of Daughter Zion.

and you became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message with joy from the Holy Spirit.

My very bones will say,“ Lord, who is like You, rescuing the poor from one too strong for him, the poor or the needy from one who robs him?”

I greatly rejoice in the Lord, I exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.

and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,
