In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

Because you know all this, you have great joy. You have joy even though you may have had to suffer for a little while. You may have had to suffer sadness in all kinds of trouble.

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.

You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials

Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.

For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling- place;and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.

My soul melteth for heaviness: Strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

And ye therefore now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one taketh away from you.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

and not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:whom not having seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father chasteneth not?But if ye are without chastening, whereof all have been made partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.All chastening seemeth for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yieldeth peaceable fruit unto them that have been exercised thereby, even the fruit of righteousness.

Oh come, let us sing unto Jehovah; Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will put off my sad countenance, and be of good cheer;I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

Women received their dead by a resurrection: and others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:and others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword: they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, ill- treated( of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth.

But let the brother of low degree glory in his high estate:

And Hannah prayed, and said: My heart exulteth in Jehovah; My horn is exalted in Jehovah; My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; Because I rejoice in thy salvation.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid: for Jehovah, even Jehovah, is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as one beside himself) I more; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft.Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day have I been in the deep;in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

I know, O Jehovah, that thy judgments are righteous, And that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.

That I may show forth all thy praise. In the gates of the daughter of Zion I will rejoice in thy salvation.

And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit;

All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him?

I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and sore troubled.

since he longed after you all, and was sore troubled, because ye had heard that he was sick:

And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
