and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also— not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (niv)

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace (niv)

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. (niv)

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. (niv)
