因為你們藉着上帝活活而長存之道得了重新之生，不是由於能朽壞的種、乃是由於不能朽壞的種。

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

願祝頌歸於我們主耶穌基督的父上帝；他照他的大憐憫、藉着耶穌基督從死人中起來的復活、重新生了我們，來得個活活的盼望，

因為上帝之道是活的，是有效力的；比一切雙刃的刀還快，甚至於人的魂與靈、骨節與骨髓之分際、都能刺入；連人心中的思想與念頭、也能辨明。

這能朽壞的必須穿上不朽壞；這能死的必須穿上不死。這能死的既穿上了不死，那時經上所記：『死被吞滅在勝利中』的話便應驗了。

這種人不是由於血而生的，不是由於肉慾，也不是由於人慾，乃是由於上帝、而生的。

耶穌回答他說：『我實實在在地告訴你，人若沒有重生，就不能看見上帝的國。』

耶穌回答說：『我實實在在地告訴你，人若不是由水與靈生的，就不能進上帝的國。

使人活的乃是靈；肉體無濟於事；我所對你們說的話語是靈，是生命。

惟獨主的道永遠長存』；所給你們傳為福音的、就是這道。

我們知道凡由上帝而生的都不犯罪，是那由上帝而生的保守着他，而那邪惡者不能觸害着他。

天地會過去，我的話斷不能過去。

他照他的意思、用真理之道生了我們，要使我們做他所創造的萬物中一種初熟的果子。

萬物藉着他而被造；凡被造的、沒有一物在他以外而被造。

用那能敗壞的人類、飛鳥、走獸、昆蟲之像的樣式、去代換那不能朽壞的上帝之榮耀。

得了夢的神言人儘可以將夢敘說出來呀；得了我的話的人儘可以老老實實講說我的話呀。永恆主發神諭說，禾藁怎能跟麥子比較呢？

看吧，我必叱責你們這種類，把你們節期祭牲的糞抹在你們臉上，就把你們拋到處罰地去。
