故當堅心、如束腰然、警醒、盼望耶穌基督顯現時將賜爾之恩、

故宜振作爾心、昭昭惺惺、凝神壹志、以望耶穌基督臨格時所攜之聖寵。

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.

So be watchful, and control yourselves completely. In this way, put your hope in the grace that lies ahead. This grace will be brought to you when Jesus Christ returns.

Be sober and self- controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.

But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house. We are his house, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.

Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

But now faith, hope, and love remain— these three. The greatest of these is love.

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;

Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.

Let all the peoples praise him.”Again, Isaiah says,“ There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.”Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,

Yahweh’s hand was on Elijah; and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist.

“ Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.

“ You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.

This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh’s Passover.

Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me!

Then he said to Gehazi,“ Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don’t greet him; and if anyone greets you, don’t answer him again. Then lay my staff on the child’s face.”

and will not rather tell him,‘ Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’?
