When Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had achieved all he had desired to do,

Solomon finished building the Lord’ s temple and the royal palace. He had accomplished everything he had planned to do.

As soon as Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house and all that Solomon desired to build,

So Solomon finished building the Temple of the Lord, as well as the royal palace. He completed everything he had planned to do.

Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the king’s house; and Solomon successfully accomplished all that came into his heart to make in the house of the Lord and in his own house.Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him:“ I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments,then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying,‘ You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.’“ But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them,then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.“ And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say,‘ Why has the Lord done thus to this land and this house?’Then they will answer,‘ Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them; therefore He has brought all this calamity on them.’”It came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the house of the Lord and his own house,that the cities which Hiram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them; and he settled the children of Israel there.And Solomon went to Hamath Zobah and seized it.He also built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities which he built in Hamath.He built Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars,also Baalath and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities and the cities of the cavalry, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

( Hiram the king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress and gold, as much as he desired), that King Solomon then gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

I made my works great, I built myself houses, and planted myself vineyards.

In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv.And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its details and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.But Solomon took thirteen years to build his own house; so he finished all his house.

Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, For my heart rejoiced in all my labor; And this was my reward from all my labor.

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of desire. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.

So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the Lord was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the Lord.
