“ Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.

“ I praise the Lord. He has given peace and rest to his people Israel. That’s exactly what he promised to do. He gave his people good promises through his servant Moses. Every single word of those promises has come true.

“ Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.

“ Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.

“ Blessed be the LORD! He has given rest to his people Israel according to all he has said. Not one of all the good promises he made through his servant Moses has failed.

“看哪，我今天要走世人必經的路了。你們清清楚楚（“清清楚楚”原文作“一心一意”）知道耶和華你們的神應許賜福給你們的話，沒有一句落空；完全應驗在你們身上，沒有一句落空。耶和華你們的神應許你們的一切福氣怎樣臨到你們身上，耶和華也必照樣使各樣的災禍臨到你們身上，直到把你們從耶和華你們的神賜給你們的這美地上消滅為止。

耶和華照著他向他們列祖起誓所說的一切話，使他們四境平靜；他們所有的仇敵，沒有一人能在他們面前站立得住；耶和華把他們所有的仇敵都交在他們手裡。耶和華向以色列家應許賜福的話，沒有一句落空，都應驗了。

撒母耳漸漸長大，耶和華與他同在，使他所說的一切話，沒有一句落空。

天地都過去，但我的話決不會廢去。

向我們列祖施憐憫，記念他的聖約，就是他對我們祖先亞伯拉罕所起的誓，

但是你們過了約旦河，住在耶和華你們的神使你們承受為業的地，又使你們太平，脫離你們周圍的所有仇敵，安居樂業，

直到耶和華使你們的兄弟，像你們一樣得了安身的地方；他們也佔領了耶和華你們的神在約旦河西賜給他們的地，然後你們各人才可以回到我賜給你們作產業的地去。’

他扶助了他的僕人以色列，為要記念他的憐憫，正如他向我們列祖所說的，恩待亞伯拉罕和他的後裔，直到永遠。”

然而我們信了的人，就可以進入那安息。正如神所說：“我在烈怒中起誓說，他們絕不可進入我的安息！”其實神的工作，從創立世界以來已經完成了。因為論到第七日，他在聖經某一處說：“在第七日神歇了他的一切工作。”但在這裡又說：“他們絕不可進入我的安息。”既然這安息還留著要讓一些人進去，但那些以前聽過福音的人，因為不順從不得進去；所以神就再定一個日子，就是過了很久以後，藉著大衛所說的“今天”，就像前面引用過的：“如果你們今天聽從他的聲音，就不要硬著心。”如果約書亞已經使他們享受了安息，神後來就不會再提到別的日子了。這樣看來，為了神的子民，必定另外有一個“安息日”的安息保留下來。

你們和你們的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你們城裡的利未人，都要在耶和華你們的神面前歡樂，因為利未人在你們中間無分無業。

你們要知道耶和華的話，就是耶和華所說攻擊亞哈家的話，一句也沒有落空；耶和華藉著他的僕人以利亞所說的話，他都作成了。”

他又在猶大建造了幾座設防城，因為國中太平，多年沒有戰爭，耶和華使他享受安寧。
