“ Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.

“ I praise the Lord. He has given peace and rest to his people Israel. That’s exactly what he promised to do. He gave his people good promises through his servant Moses. Every single word of those promises has come true.

“ Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.

“ Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.

“ Blessed be the LORD! He has given rest to his people Israel according to all he has said. Not one of all the good promises he made through his servant Moses has failed.

“看哪，我今天要走世人必经的路了。你们清清楚楚（“清清楚楚”原文作“一心一意”）知道耶和华你们的神应许赐福给你们的话，没有一句落空；完全应验在你们身上，没有一句落空。耶和华你们的神应许你们的一切福气怎样临到你们身上，耶和华也必照样使各样的灾祸临到你们身上，直到把你们从耶和华你们的神赐给你们的这美地上消灭为止。

耶和华照着他向他们列祖起誓所说的一切话，使他们四境平静；他们所有的仇敌，没有一人能在他们面前站立得住；耶和华把他们所有的仇敌都交在他们手里。耶和华向以色列家应许赐福的话，没有一句落空，都应验了。

撒母耳渐渐长大，耶和华与他同在，使他所说的一切话，没有一句落空。

天地都过去，但我的话决不会废去。

向我们列祖施怜悯，记念他的圣约，就是他对我们祖先亚伯拉罕所起的誓，

但是你们过了约旦河，住在耶和华你们的神使你们承受为业的地，又使你们太平，脱离你们周围的所有仇敌，安居乐业，

直到耶和华使你们的兄弟，像你们一样得了安身的地方；他们也占领了耶和华你们的神在约旦河西赐给他们的地，然后你们各人才可以回到我赐给你们作产业的地去。’

他扶助了他的仆人以色列，为要记念他的怜悯，正如他向我们列祖所说的，恩待亚伯拉罕和他的后裔，直到永远。”

然而我们信了的人，就可以进入那安息。正如神所说：“我在烈怒中起誓说，他们绝不可进入我的安息！”其实神的工作，从创立世界以来已经完成了。因为论到第七日，他在圣经某一处说：“在第七日神歇了他的一切工作。”但在这里又说：“他们绝不可进入我的安息。”既然这安息还留着要让一些人进去，但那些以前听过福音的人，因为不顺从不得进去；所以神就再定一个日子，就是过了很久以后，藉着大卫所说的“今天”，就像前面引用过的：“如果你们今天听从他的声音，就不要硬着心。”如果约书亚已经使他们享受了安息，神后来就不会再提到别的日子了。这样看来，为了神的子民，必定另外有一个“安息日”的安息保留下来。

你们和你们的儿女、仆婢，以及住在你们城里的利未人，都要在耶和华你们的神面前欢乐，因为利未人在你们中间无分无业。

你们要知道耶和华的话，就是耶和华所说攻击亚哈家的话，一句也没有落空；耶和华藉着他的仆人以利亚所说的话，他都作成了。”

他又在犹大建造了几座设防城，因为国中太平，多年没有战争，耶和华使他享受安宁。
