After all, they are your people and your special possession whom you brought out of Egypt, from the middle of the iron-smelting furnace.

for they are your people and your inheritance, whom you brought out of Egypt, out of that iron-smelting furnace.

After all, they are your people. They belong to you. You brought them out of Egypt. You brought them out of that furnace that melts iron down and makes it pure.

( for they are your people, and your heritage, which you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the iron furnace).

for they are your people— your special possession— whom you brought out of the iron smelting furnace of Egypt.

For they are your people and your inheritance; you brought them out of Egypt, out of the middle of an iron furnace.

( for they are thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);

For they are Your people and Your inheritance; You brought them out of Egypt, out of the middle of an iron furnace.

Those are the terms that I charged your ancestors to keep when I brought them out of Egypt, that place which was like an iron-smelting furnace. I said at that time,“ Obey me and carry out the terms of the agreement exactly as I commanded you. If you do, you will be my people and I will be your God.

You, however, the LORD has selected and brought from Egypt, that iron- smelting furnace, to be his special people as you are today.

They are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your mighty strength and by your powerful hand.

But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God and said,“ O LORD, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ For evil he led them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger, and relent of this evil against your people.

I prayed to him: O, Lord GOD, do not destroy your people, your valued property that you have powerfully redeemed, whom you brought out of Egypt by your strength.Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; ignore the stubbornness, wickedness, and sin of these people.Otherwise the people of the land from which you brought us will say,“ The LORD was unable to bring them to the land he promised them, and because of his hatred for them he has brought them out to kill them in the desert.”They are your people, your valued property, whom you brought out with great strength and power.

Moses said to the LORD,“ When the Egyptians hear it– for you brought up this people by your power from among them–then they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you, LORD, are among this people, that you, LORD, are seen face to face, that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them by day in a pillar of cloud and in a pillar of fire by night.If you kill this entire people at once, then the nations that have heard of your fame will say,‘ Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land that he swore to them, he killed them in the wilderness.’So now, let the power of my Lord be great, just as you have said,‘ The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in loyal love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children until the third and fourth generations.’Please forgive the iniquity of this people according to your great loyal love, just as you have forgiven this people from Egypt even until now.”

The LORD, who is the portion of the descendants of Jacob, is not like them. For he is the one who created everything, including the people of Israel whom he claims as his own. He is known as the LORD who rules over all.

For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not recognize us. You, LORD, are our father; you have been called our protector from ancient times.Why, LORD, do you make us stray from your ways, and make our minds stubborn so that we do not obey you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance!For a short time your special nation possessed a land, but then our adversaries knocked down your holy sanctuary.

then listen from your heavenly dwelling place to their prayers for help, vindicate them, and forgive your sinful people.

LORD, do not be too angry! Do not hold our sins against us continually! Take a good look at your people, at all of us!

After all, you picked them out of all the nations of the earth to be your special possession, just as you, O sovereign LORD, announced through your servant Moses when you brought our ancestors out of Egypt.”
