如人獲罪於爾、使天閉塞、雨澤不降、至殿祈禱、呼籲爾名、緣遘患難、去厥罪愆、

如民獲罪於主、致天閉塞不雨、而在此處祈禱、認主之名、主罰之之後、悛悔罪惡、

“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and give praise to your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them,

“ Suppose your people have sinned against you. And because of that, the sky is closed up and there isn’t any rain. But your people pray toward this place. They praise you by admitting they’ve sinned. And they turn away from their sin because you have made them suffer.

“ The time will come when the skies are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, and turn away from their sin because you punish them,

「你的百姓以色列若得罪你，敗在仇敵面前，卻又歸向你，宣認你的名，在這殿裏向你祈求禱告，

以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，使天封閉不下雨，使地不出產，使你們在耶和華所賜給你們的美地上速速滅亡。

我必粉碎你們因勢力而有的驕傲，又要使你們的天堅如鐵，地硬如銅。

於是迦得來到大衛那裏告訴他，問他：「你要國中有七年的饑荒呢？或是你在敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？或是在你國中有三日的瘟疫呢？現在你要考慮思量，我怎樣去回覆那差我來的。」

我對你們說實話，在以利亞的時候，天閉塞了三年六個月，遍地有大饑荒，那時，以色列中有許多寡婦，

這二人有權柄關閉天空，使他們說預言的日子不下雨；又有權柄使水變為血，並且能隨時隨意用各樣的災害擊打大地。

所以，以色列家啊，我必按你們各人所做的審判你們。當回轉，回轉離開你們一切的罪過，免得罪孽成為你們的絆腳石。這是主耶和華說的。你們要把所犯的一切罪過盡行拋棄，為自己造一個新的心和新的靈。以色列家啊，你們為甚麼要死呢？我不喜歡有任何人死亡，所以你們當回轉，要存活！這是主耶和華說的。」

並使外邦人，因他的憐憫，榮耀上帝。如經上所記：「因此，我要在外邦中稱頌你，歌頌你的名。」

住在基列的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：「我指着所事奉永生的耶和華－以色列的上帝起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露水，也不下雨。」

願你的眼目晝夜看顧這殿，就是你說要作為你名的居所；求你垂聽禱告，你僕人向此處的禱告。你僕人和你百姓以色列向此處祈禱的時候，求你在你天上的居所垂聽，垂聽而赦免。

你們舉手禱告，我必遮眼不看，就算你們多多祈禱，我也不聽；你們的手沾滿了血。你們要洗滌、自潔，從我眼前除掉惡行；要停止作惡，

祭司啊，當束上麻布痛哭；事奉祭壇的啊，要哀號；事奉我上帝的啊，你們要來，披上麻布過夜，因為在你們上帝的殿中不再有素祭和澆酒祭了。你們要使禁食的日子分別為聖，宣告嚴肅會，召集長老和這地所有的居民來到耶和華－你們上帝的殿，向耶和華哀求。哀哉，這日子！因為耶和華的日子臨近，好像毀滅從全能者來到。糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了嗎？歡喜快樂不是從我們上帝的殿中止息了嗎？種子在土塊下朽爛，倉荒涼，廩破壞，因為五穀枯乾了。牲畜哀鳴，牛羣混亂，因無草場，羊羣也受苦。耶和華啊，我向你求告，因為有火吞噬野地的草場，火焰燒盡田野的樹木。田野的走獸切慕你，因為溪水乾涸，火吞噬了野地的草場。

這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。

以色列啊，你要歸向耶和華－你的上帝，你因自己的罪孽跌倒了。

「人子啊，若有一國犯罪干犯我，我也伸手攻擊它，斷絕他們糧食的供應，使饑荒臨到那地，將人與牲畜從其中剪除；

你頭上的天要變成銅，下面的地要化為鐵。耶和華要使那降在你地上的雨變為灰塵，塵土從天落在你身上，直到你被除滅。

你若口裏宣認耶穌為主，心裏信上帝叫他從死人中復活，就必得救。

耶和華必為你敞開天上的寶庫，按時降雨在你的地上。他必賜福你手裏所做的一切。你必借給許多國家，卻不必去借貸。

耶和華的話臨到耶利米，論到旱災的事：「猶大悲哀，城門衰敗；眾人坐在地上哀慟，耶路撒冷的哀聲上達。他們的貴族打發僮僕去打水；他們來到水池，找不到水，就拿着空器皿，蒙羞慚愧，抱頭而回。因為無雨降在地上，土地就乾裂，農夫為此蒙羞抱頭。田野的母鹿因為無草也撇棄才生的小鹿。野驢站在光禿的高地喘氣，好像野狗；牠們的眼目因無草而失明。」耶和華啊，雖然我們的罪孽控告我們，求你為你名的緣故行動吧！我們本是多次背道，得罪了你。

你們要將當納的十分之一全然送入倉庫，使我家有糧，以此試試我，是否為你們敞開天上的窗戶，傾福與你們，甚至無處可容。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

「你的百姓以色列若得罪你，敗在仇敵面前，卻又歸向你，宣認你的名，在這殿裏向你祈求禱告，

你們要在錫安吹角，使禁食的日子分別為聖，宣告嚴肅會。聚集百姓，使會眾自潔；召集老年人，聚集孩童和在母懷吃奶的；使新郎出內室，新娘離開洞房。事奉耶和華的祭司要在走廊和祭壇間哭泣，說：「耶和華啊，求你顧惜你的百姓，不要使你的產業受羞辱，在列國中成為笑柄。為何讓人在萬民中說『他們的上帝在哪裏』呢？」
