“ But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!

“神果真住在地上吗？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足你居住的，何况我所建的这殿呢？

“上帝果真住在地上吗？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足容纳你，何况我所建的这殿呢？

“神果真住在地上吗？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足容纳你，何况我所建的这殿呢？

“然而，上帝啊，你真的会住在人间吗？看啊，诸天尚且不够你居住，更何况我建造的这殿呢？

“神真的住在地上吗？看哪！天和天上的天尚且不能容纳你，何况我建造的这殿呢？

「神果真住在地上嗎？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足你居住的，何況我所建的這殿呢？

「上帝果真住在地上嗎？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足容納你，何況我所建的這殿呢？

「神果真住在地上嗎？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足容納你，何況我所建的這殿呢？

「然而，上帝啊，你真的會住在人間嗎？看啊，諸天尚且不夠你居住，更何況我建造的這殿呢？

“神真的住在地上嗎？看哪！天和天上的天尚且不能容納你，何況我建造的這殿呢？

『然而上帝果真住在地上麼？看哪，天和天上之天尚且容不下你，何況我所建的這殿呢？

然上帝豈果居於地乎、天與天上之天、不足容爾、況我所建之室乎、

然上帝豈居於地乎。穹蒼不足以居爾、天上明宮亦不足以居爾、況我所建之殿乎。

然天主豈真居於地乎、天與天上之天、尚不足為主之居所、況我所建此殿乎、

“ But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!

“ But will you really live on earth? After all, the heavens can’t hold you. In fact, even the highest heavens can’t hold you. So this temple I’ve built certainly can’t hold you!

“ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

But will God indeed live on earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

“ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!

“ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!

But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!

But will God indeed live on earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

“ God does not really live on the earth! Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

But who can really build him a worthy home? Not even the highest heavens can contain him! So who am I to consider building a Temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices to him?

Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.

This is what the Lord says:“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place?

However, the Most High doesn’t live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says,‘ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that?’ asks the Lord.‘ Could you build me such a resting place?

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous— how well I know it.You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

For the Lord is high above the nations; his glory is higher than the heavens.

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

“ He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man made temples,

“ Look, the highest heavens and the earth and everything in it all belong to the Lord your God.

“ But will God really live on earth among people? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!

I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know— only God knows.

And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:“ I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
