然上帝豈居於地乎。穹蒼不足以居爾、天上明宮亦不足以居爾、況我所建之殿乎。

然天主豈真居於地乎、天與天上之天、尚不足為主之居所、況我所建此殿乎、

“ But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!

Can a person hide in secret places where I cannot see him?”— the LORD’s declaration.“ Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?”— the LORD’s declaration.

This is what the LORD says: Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where could you possibly build a house for me? And where would my resting place be?

but the Most High does not dwell in sanctuaries made with hands, as the prophet says:Heaven is my throne, and the earth my footstool. What sort of house will you build for me? says the Lord, or what will be my resting place?

Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.If I fly on the wings of the dawn and settle down on the western horizon,even there your hand will lead me; your right hand will hold on to me.If I say,“ Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be night”—even the darkness is not dark to you. The night shines like the day; darkness and light are alike to you.For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well.My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.

The LORD is exalted above all the nations, his glory above the heavens.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The God who made the world and everything in it— he is Lord of heaven and earth— does not live in shrines made by hands.

The heavens, indeed the highest heavens, belong to the LORD your God, as does the earth and everything in it.

But will God indeed live on earth with humans? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

I know a man in Christ who was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether he was in the body or out of the body, I don’t know; God knows.

And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God said: I will dwell and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.
