其中我為約匱備一所、匱內有主之約、即主導我列祖出伊及時、與彼所立之約、○

I have provided a place there for the ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord that he made with our ancestors when he brought them out of Egypt.”

约柜里面只有两块石版，这两块石版在以色列人出埃及地以后，耶和华与他们立约的时候，摩西在何烈山放在那里的。

“你们要把这律法书，放在耶和华你们的神的约柜旁，可以在那里作反对你们的见证，

所罗门王和聚集到他那里的以色列全体会众，都一同在约柜前献牛羊为祭，数目多得不可胜数，无法计算。祭司把耶和华的约柜抬进内殿为它预备的地方，就是至圣所，放在两个基路伯的翅膀底下。

那时，我上了山，要领受石版，就是耶和华与你们立约的石版；那时我在山上住了四十昼夜，不吃不喝。

摩西在那里与耶和华在一起共四十昼夜，不吃饭，也不喝水。他把这约的话写在两块版上，这就是十诫。

过了四十昼夜，耶和华把那两块石版，就是约版，交给了我。
