所許之言曰、自耶和華導以色列民、出埃及以來、迄於今日、未嘗於以色列支派中、遴選一邑、使人建殿、為籲名之所、惟簡大闢、治理我民。

自我導我民以色列出伊及以來、未曾於以色列諸支派中選一邑、使人為我名建殿、惟選大衛治理我民以色列、

‘ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name might be there, but I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.’

‘ I brought my people Israel out of Egypt. Ever since, I haven’t chosen a city in any tribe of Israel where a temple could be built for my Name. But I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.’

‘ Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there. But I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

‘ From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among any of the tribes of Israel as the place where a Temple should be built to honor my name. But I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.’”

“ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city to build a temple in among any of the tribes of Israel, so that my name would be there. But I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.”

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、我既棄掃羅、不使為以色列王、爾為之懷憂、伊於胡底、可盛膏於角而往、我將遣爾詣伯利恆人耶西、其眾子中、我簡其一為王、

是夜耶和華諭拿單曰、往告我僕大衛曰、耶和華云、爾為我建室以居乎、我自導以色列族出埃及、至於今日、未嘗居室、乃行於帷幕中、凡我與以色列人偕行之地、豈曾語所命牧我民以色列支派之一者曰、曷不為我建香柏之室乎、故當謂我僕大衛曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我自羊牢中、羊羣後、取爾為我民以色列之君、

願爾之目、晝夜垂顧此室、即爾所言寄名之所、俯聽爾僕向此所祈、

然以色列之上帝耶和華、於我父家簡我、永為以色列王、因其簡猶大族為首、在猶大室中簡我父家、在我父眾子中悅我、立為以色列全族之王、

所命爾之燔祭、他祭、所應輸之什一、舉祭、及許願於耶和華之美祭、俱當攜之、至爾上帝耶和華所選寄名之處、

我自導以色列人出埃及、至於今日、未嘗居室、乃處帷幕、由此遷彼、凡我與以色列人偕行之地、豈曾語牧我民以色列之士師曰、曷不為我建香柏之室乎、

蓋耶和華簡郇、欲以為居所兮、

耶和華曰、我將屏猶大人於我前、如屏以色列人然、棄我所簡此邑耶路撒冷、及我所言必寄我名之室、

簡其僕大衛、出之於羊牢、

爾上帝耶和華於爾支派中、所選寄名之處、爾當詣而求之、

如其歸我、守我誡命、而遵行之、爾之亡人、雖在天涯、我必由彼集之、導至所簡以寄我名之所、請爾憶之、

以一支派予其子、使我僕大衛、在我前恆有燈光、於我所簡耶路撒冷、即我寄名之所、

爾見異象、諭爾聖民曰、我以助力、畀有能者、高舉一人、自民所簡兮、尋獲我僕大衛、膏以聖膏兮、

彼曰、自我導我民出埃及地、於以色列支派中、我未嘗簡一邑以建室、為我寄名之所、亦未嘗簡一人、為我民以色列之君、惟簡耶路撒冷、為我寄名之所、又簡大衛治我民以色列、我父大衛、有意為以色列上帝耶和華之名建室、耶和華諭之曰、爾欲為我名建室、此意誠善、然爾不可建室、惟爾所生之子、將為我名建室、今耶和華成其所言、蓋我循其所許、起而繼父大衛、居以色列國位、又為以色列上帝耶和華之名建室、置匱於其中、內有耶和華之約、即與以色列人所立者、○
