彼曰、自我導我民以色列出埃及、於以色列支派中、我未嘗簡一邑以建室、為我寄名之所、惟簡大衛、治我民以色列、

所許之言曰、自耶和華導以色列民、出埃及以來、迄於今日、未嘗於以色列支派中、遴選一邑、使人建殿、為籲名之所、惟簡大闢、治理我民。

自我導我民以色列出伊及以來、未曾於以色列諸支派中選一邑、使人為我名建殿、惟選大衛治理我民以色列、

‘ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name might be there, but I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.’

‘ I brought my people Israel out of Egypt. Ever since, I haven’t chosen a city in any tribe of Israel where a temple could be built for my Name. But I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.’

‘ Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there. But I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

‘ From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among any of the tribes of Israel as the place where a Temple should be built to honor my name. But I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.’”

“ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city to build a temple in among any of the tribes of Israel, so that my name would be there. But I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.”

‘ Since the day that I brought My people Israel from Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house so that My name would be there, but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲哀要到几时呢？我已经弃绝他作以色列的王了。你把膏油盛满了角，然后去吧！我要差派你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他的众子中，已经预定了一个为我作王。”

那天晚上，耶和华的话临到拿单说：“你去对我的仆人大卫说：耶和华这样说：‘你要建造一座殿宇给我居住吗？因为自从我把以色列人从埃及带上来的那天起，直到今日，我都没有住过殿宇。我一直都住在帐棚和会幕里，到处漂泊。我与以色列众人一起走过的地方，我可曾对以色列的一个支派的官长，就是我所吩咐要牧养我子民以色列的，说：你们为什么不给我建造一座香柏木的殿宇呢？’现在你要对我的仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：我把你从牧场中、从照顾羊群的工作中拣选出来，使你作我子民以色列的领袖，

愿你的眼睛昼夜看顾这殿，看顾你所说‘我的名要留在那里’的地方。愿你垂听你仆人向这地方所发的祷告。

然而耶和华以色列的神，在我父的全家拣选了我作以色列人的王，直到永远；因为他拣选了犹大作领袖；在犹大家中拣选了我的父家；在我父亲的众子中，他喜悦我，立我作全以色列的王；

那时，你要把我吩咐你们的燔祭和其他的祭物、十分之一的礼物和手中的贡献，以及你们向耶和华许愿要献的最美的一切还愿祭，都要带到耶和华你们的神选择作为立他名的地方。

因为自从我领以色列人上来那天起，直到今日，我都未曾住过殿宇，只是从这帐幕到那帐幕，从这帐棚到那帐棚。我和以色列众人，无论走到什么地方，从没有向以色列的哪一个士师，就是我所吩咐牧养我的子民的，说：你们为什么不给我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’

因为耶和华拣选了锡安，定意把它当作自己的居所。他说：

耶和华说：“我也要把犹大从我面前赶走，好像我把以色列除去一样。我要丢弃我所拣选的城市耶路撒冷，以及圣殿，我曾说：‘我的名必立在那里。’”

他拣选了自己的仆人大卫，把他从羊圈中召出来；

耶和华你们的神从你们各支派中，选择了什么地方作立他名的居所，你们就当到那里求问他；

但如果你们回心转意归向我，谨守遵行我的诫命，即使在你们被赶逐的天边，我也必从那里把他们招聚回来，带他们到我选择给我的名居住的地方那里去。’

至于所罗门的儿子，我要给他一个支派，好使我的仆人大卫在我所拣选立我名的城耶路撒冷，在我面前常常有灯光。

那时，你在异象中告诉你的圣民说：“我帮助了一位勇士，我从民中兴起了一位青年（“我从民中兴起了一位青年”或译：“我兴起那从民中所拣选的”）。我找到我的仆人大卫，用我的圣膏油膏他。

‘自从我领我的子民从埃及地出来的那天，我没有在以色列众支派中，拣选一座城建造殿宇，使我的名留在那里；我也没有拣选一个人作领袖，统治我的子民以色列。我却拣选了耶路撒冷，使我的名留在那里；也拣选了大卫，统治我的子民以色列。’我的父亲大卫有心要为耶和华以色列的神的名建造殿宇。耶和华却对我的父亲大卫说：‘你心想要为我的名建造殿宇，你心意很好；不过不是由你建造殿宇，而是你的儿子，你亲生的儿子，他必为我的名建殿。’现在耶和华实现了他所说过的话，我已经起来接续我的父亲大卫，坐上了以色列的王位，就像耶和华所说的；我为耶和华以色列的神的名建造了这殿。我也把约柜安放在殿里，约柜中有耶和华和以色列人所立的约。”

“你们可以到示罗我的地方去，就是先前我名的居所，看看我因我子民以色列的邪恶，对那地方所行的。
