所許之言曰、自耶和華導以色列民、出埃及以來、迄於今日、未嘗於以色列支派中、遴選一邑、使人建殿、為籲名之所、惟簡大闢、治理我民。

‘ Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name might be there, but I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.’

‘ I brought my people Israel out of Egypt. Ever since, I haven’t chosen a city in any tribe of Israel where a temple could be built for my Name. But I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.’

‘ Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there. But I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

‘ From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among any of the tribes of Israel as the place where a Temple should be built to honor my name. But I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.’”

愿你昼夜看顾这殿——你应许立你名的地方！你仆人向着这地方祷告的时候，求你垂听。

以色列的上帝耶和华从我父亲家中拣选我做以色列的王，直到永远。因为祂拣选了犹大支派做首领；在犹大支派中，祂拣选了我父亲家；在我父亲的众子中，祂喜悦我，立我做以色列的王。

你们要把我吩咐你们献的燔祭、各种牲祭、十一奉献、举祭和一切还愿祭带到你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所。

从我把以色列人带出埃及那天起直到今天，我从未住过殿宇，都住在四处迁移的帐篷里。在我与以色列人同行的日子，我从未责问任何我委派牧养我子民的士师，‘你为何不为我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’

因为耶和华已经拣选了锡安，愿意将锡安作为祂的居所。

耶和华说：“我要像驱逐以色列人一样将犹大人从我面前赶走。我要撇弃我所拣选的耶路撒冷和我名常在的殿。”

祂拣选了祂的仆人大卫，把他从羊圈中召来，

你们的上帝耶和华要在你们众支派中选一个地方作祂的居所，你们要去那里敬拜祂，

但如果你们转向我，谨遵我的诫命，即使你们流落天涯，我也必从那里把你们召集到我选为我名所在之地。’

只给他儿子留下一个支派，好使我仆人大卫有后裔留在我选为居所的耶路撒冷城。

你曾在异象中对你忠心的子民说：“我已把力量赐给一位勇士，已擢升我在民中拣选的人。我找到了我的仆人大卫，用我的圣油膏立他。

祂曾说，‘自从我把我的子民带出埃及以来，我并没有在以色列众支派中选出一座城建造殿宇作为我名所在之地，也没有选立一人做我以色列子民的君王。但如今，我拣选了耶路撒冷作为我名所在之地，又拣选了大卫来治理我的以色列子民。’”所罗门又说：“我父大卫曾想建一座殿来尊崇以色列的上帝耶和华之名，但耶和华对我父大卫说，‘你想为我建殿，这番心意是好的，但你不要建，要由你的亲生儿子为我建殿。’现在耶和华已经成就祂的应许，让我继承我父大卫的王位统治以色列，又为以色列的上帝耶和华的名建了殿。我把约柜安放在里面，约柜里有耶和华与以色列人所立的约。”
