And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed[ be] the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

When Hiram heard Solomon’s message, he was greatly pleased and said,“ Praise be to the Lord today, for he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation.”

Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them.Huram said moreover, Blessed[ be] the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.

Happy[ are] thy men, and happy[ are] these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne,[ to be] king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me[ are] for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.Peace be within thy walls,[ and] prosperity within thy palaces.

A wise son[ heareth] his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise[ child] shall have joy of him.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son[ is] the heaviness of his mother.

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who[ are] those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

And also thus said the king, Blessed[ be] the LORD God of Israel, which hath given[ one] to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing[ it].
