昔我父大闢、四方戰鬥、未蒙耶和華服諸敵於足下、故不得建殿、以籲其上帝耶和華之名、乃爾所知。

“ You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the Lord his God until the Lord put his enemies under his feet.

“ As you know, my father David had to fight many battles. His enemies attacked him from every side. So he couldn’t build a temple where the Lord his God would put his Name. That wouldn’t be possible until the Lord had put his enemies under his control.

“ You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the warfare with which his enemies surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know that my father, David, was not able to build a Temple to honor the name of the Lord his God because of the many wars waged against him by surrounding nations. He could not build until the Lord gave him victory over all his enemies.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of the LORD his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.

“ You know that David my father was unable to build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.

You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the Lord put his foes under the soles of his feet.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Jehovah his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of Yahweh his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the Lord put his enemies under his feet.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know that my father David was unable to build a temple to honor the LORD his God, for he was busy fighting battles on all fronts while the LORD subdued his enemies.

“ You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.

只是上帝對我說：『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因你是戰士，流了人的血。』

可是耶和華的話臨到我說：『你流了許多的血，打了多次大仗；你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你在我面前使許多血流在地上。

還有無數的香柏木，因為西頓人和推羅人給大衛運了許多香柏木來。大衛說：「我兒子所羅門還年幼脆弱，要為耶和華建造的殿宇必須高大輝煌，使名聲榮耀傳遍萬國，所以我要為殿預備。」於是，大衛在未死之前預備了許多材料。大衛召了他兒子所羅門來，吩咐他為耶和華－以色列的上帝建造殿宇。

耶和華對我主說：「你坐在我的右邊，等我使你仇敵作你的腳凳。」

但我選擇耶路撒冷，使我的名留在那裏，又揀選大衛治理我的百姓以色列。』我父大衛的心意是要為耶和華－以色列上帝的名建殿。耶和華卻對我父大衛說：『你有心為我的名建殿，這心意是好的；

他們帶出那五個王到約書亞那裏的時候，約書亞就召了以色列眾人來，對和他同去的軍官說：「你們近前來，把腳踏在這些王的頸項上。」他們就近前來，把腳踏在這些王的頸項上。

你派他管理你手所造的，使萬物，就是一切的牛羊、田野的牲畜、空中的鳥、海裏的魚，凡游在水裏的，都服在他的腳下。

你們必踐踏惡人；在我所定的日子，他們必成為你們腳掌下的灰塵。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

上帝使萬有服在他的腳下，又使他為了教會作萬有之首；

因為基督必須掌權，等上帝把一切仇敵都放在他的腳下。

「你去對我僕人大衛說：『耶和華如此說：你要建造殿宇給我居住嗎？自從我領以色列人從埃及上來，直到今日，我未曾住過殿宇，卻在會幕和帳幕中行走。凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列任何一個領袖，就是我吩咐牧養我百姓以色列的，說過這話：你們為何不給我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？』現在，你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：我從羊圈中將你召來，叫你不再牧放羊羣，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。你無論往哪裏去，我都與你同在，剪除你所有的仇敵。我必使你得大名，好像世上偉人的名一樣。我必為我百姓以色列選定一個地方，栽植他們，使他們住自己的地方，不再受攪擾；兇惡之子也不像從前那樣苦待他們，並不像我命令士師治理我百姓以色列的日子。我必使你平靜，不受任何仇敵攪擾，並且耶和華應許你，耶和華必為你建立家室。
