“ You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the Lord his God until the Lord put his enemies under his feet.

“ As you know, my father David had to fight many battles. His enemies attacked him from every side. So he couldn’t build a temple where the Lord his God would put his Name. That wouldn’t be possible until the Lord had put his enemies under his control.

“ You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the warfare with which his enemies surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know that my father, David, was not able to build a Temple to honor the name of the Lord his God because of the many wars waged against him by surrounding nations. He could not build until the Lord gave him victory over all his enemies.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of the LORD his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.

“ You know that David my father was unable to build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.

You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the Lord put his foes under the soles of his feet.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Jehovah his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know my father David was not able to build a temple for the name of Yahweh his God. This was because of the warfare all around him until the Lord put his enemies under his feet.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

“ You know that my father David was unable to build a temple to honor the LORD his God, for he was busy fighting battles on all fronts while the LORD subdued his enemies.

“ You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.

只是上帝对我说：‘你不可为我的名建造殿宇，因你是战士，流了人的血。’

可是耶和华的话临到我说：‘你流了许多的血，打了多次大仗；你不可为我的名建造殿宇，因为你在我面前使许多血流在地上。

还有无数的香柏木，因为西顿人和推罗人给大卫运了许多香柏木来。大卫说：“我儿子所罗门还年幼脆弱，要为耶和华建造的殿宇必须高大辉煌，使名声荣耀传遍万国，所以我要为殿预备。”于是，大卫在未死之前预备了许多材料。大卫召了他儿子所罗门来，吩咐他为耶和华—以色列的上帝建造殿宇。

耶和华对我主说：“你坐在我的右边，等我使你仇敌作你的脚凳。”

但我选择耶路撒冷，使我的名留在那里，又拣选大卫治理我的百姓以色列。’我父大卫的心意是要为耶和华—以色列上帝的名建殿。耶和华却对我父大卫说：‘你有心为我的名建殿，这心意是好的；

他们带出那五个王到约书亚那里的时候，约书亚就召了以色列众人来，对和他同去的军官说：“你们近前来，把脚踏在这些王的颈项上。”他们就近前来，把脚踏在这些王的颈项上。

你派他管理你手所造的，使万物，就是一切的牛羊、田野的牲畜、空中的鸟、海里的鱼，凡游在水里的，都服在他的脚下。

你们必践踏恶人；在我所定的日子，他们必成为你们脚掌下的灰尘。这是万军之耶和华说的。

上帝使万有服在他的脚下，又使他为了教会作万有之首；

因为基督必须掌权，等上帝把一切仇敌都放在他的脚下。

“你去对我仆人大卫说：‘耶和华如此说：你要建造殿宇给我居住吗？自从我领以色列人从埃及上来，直到今日，我未曾住过殿宇，却在会幕和帐幕中行走。凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列任何一个领袖，就是我吩咐牧养我百姓以色列的，说过这话：你们为何不给我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’现在，你要对我仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华如此说：我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再牧放羊群，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。你无论往哪里去，我都与你同在，剪除你所有的仇敌。我必使你得大名，好像世上伟人的名一样。我必为我百姓以色列选定一个地方，栽植他们，使他们住自己的地方，不再受搅扰；凶恶之子也不像从前那样苦待他们，并不像我命令士师治理我百姓以色列的日子。我必使你平静，不受任何仇敌搅扰，并且耶和华应许你，耶和华必为你建立家室。
