但是有些流氓说：“这人怎能拯救我们呢？”就藐视他，也没有送他礼物。扫罗却没有说什么。

从前大能的君王统治耶路撒冷，治理河西那边的全地，接受他们缴税、进贡和纳粮。

所罗门统治列王，从幼发拉底河到非利士地，直到埃及的边界。王在耶路撒冷使银子好像石头，使香柏木好像平原的桑树那么多。人们从埃及和各地把马匹运到所罗门那里。所罗门其余的事迹，一生的始末，不是都记在拿单先知的记录上，示罗人亚希雅的预言上，以及先见易多论到尼八的儿子耶罗波安的启示录上吗？所罗门在耶路撒冷作王统治全以色列共四十年。所罗门和他的列祖同睡，埋葬在他父亲大卫的城里；他的儿子罗波安接续他作王。

因此，耶和华使他统治的国稳固；犹大各地都给他进贡，所以约沙法的财富很多，极有尊荣。

因为所罗门统治大河西边，从提弗萨直到迦萨的全境和大河西边的列王，所以他的四境都平安无事。

你们脚掌所踏的地，都必属于你们；从旷野到黎巴嫩，从幼发拉底河直到西海，都要作你们的境界。

他要执掌权柄，从这海到那海，从大河直到地极。住在旷野的人必向他屈身，他的仇敌必舔尘土。他施和海岛的列王都必带来礼物，示巴和西巴的列王都必献上贡物。众王都必向他俯伏，万国都必服事他。

你们许愿，总要向耶和华你们的神偿还；所有在他周围的人，都要把贡物带来献给那可敬畏的神。

亚述王撒缦以色上来攻击他，他就臣服于他，并且向他进贡。

有很多人把供物带到耶路撒冷献给耶和华，又把很多宝物送给犹大王希西家；从此，希西家受到各国的尊重。
