The Lord appeared to Solomon at Gibeon. He spoke to him in a dream during the night. God said,“ Ask for anything you want me to give you.”

At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said,“ Ask what I shall give you.”

That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said,“ What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him,“ Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”Solomon answered God,“ You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”God said to Solomon,“ Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.

he said,“ Listen to my words:“ When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.“ Get up,” he said,“ take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

“ What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.

As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus( which means“ son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”Jesus stopped and said,“ Call him.” So they called to the blind man,“ Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.”Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.“ What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said,“ Rabbi, I want to see.”

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,“ Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt

He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.There above it stood the Lord, and he said:“ I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit— fruit that will last— and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

“ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.And if we know that he hears us— whatever we ask— we know that we have what we asked of him.

For God does speak— now one way, now another— though no one perceives it.In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they slumber in their beds,

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
