摩西在旷野所造之耶和华的帐幕和燔祭坛，当时都在基遍的丘坛，

所罗门王献二万二千头牛、十二万只羊为祭。这样，王和众百姓为神的殿行了奉献之礼。

黎巴嫩不够当柴烧，其中的走兽也不够作燔祭。

“我朝见耶和华，在至高神面前跪拜，当献上什么呢？难道献一岁的牛犊为燔祭来朝见他吗？耶和华岂喜悦千千的公羊，或是万万的油河吗？我岂可为自己的过犯献我的长子，为自己的罪恶献我所亲生的吗？”

耶和华第二次向所罗门显现，如先前在基遍向他显现一样。

犹大王希西家赐给会众一千头公牛、七千只羊；众领袖也赐给会众一千头公牛、一万只羊，并有许多祭司将自己分别为圣。

耶路撒冷人就很惧怕，因为基遍是一座大城，如京城一样，比艾城更大，并且城内的人都是勇士。

基遍的居民听见约书亚向耶利哥和艾城所做的事，

会众所奉的燔祭数目如下：七十头公牛、一百只公羊、二百只羔羊，这些全都是要作燔祭献给耶和华的；又有分别为圣之物，就是六百头公牛、三千只绵羊。但祭司太少，不能剥尽所有燔祭牲的皮，所以他们的弟兄利未人帮助他们，直等献祭的事完毕，直到其他的祭司也分别为圣了；因利未人以正直的心分别为圣，胜过祭司。燔祭和平安祭牲的脂肪，以及与燔祭同献的浇酒祭很多。这样，耶和华殿中的事务俱都齐备了。

所罗门向耶和华献平安祭，二万二千头牛，十二万只羊。这样，王和全以色列为耶和华的殿行了奉献之礼。
