He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, because he followed the ways of his father and mother and of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.

Ahaziah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He lived the way his father and mother had lived. He lived the way Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had lived. Jeroboam had caused Israel to sin.

He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and walked in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

But he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the example of his father and mother and the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had led Israel to sin.

亚哈谢效法亚哈家行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，与亚哈家一样，因为他是亚哈家的女婿。

亚哈谢在撒玛利亚，一日从楼上的栏杆里掉下来，就病了；于是差遣使者说：“你们去问以革伦的神巴力西卜，我这病能好不能好。”但耶和华的使者对提斯比人以利亚说：“你起来，去迎着撒玛利亚王的使者，对他们说：‘你们去问以革伦神巴力西卜，岂因以色列中没有神吗？’所以耶和华如此说：‘你必不下你所上的床，必定要死！’”以利亚就去了。使者回来见王，王问他们说：“你们为什么回来呢？”使者回答说：“有一个人迎着我们来，对我们说：‘你们回去见差你们来的王，对他说：耶和华如此说，你差人去问以革伦神巴力西卜，岂因以色列中没有神吗？所以你必不下所上的床，必定要死。’”王问他们说：“迎着你们来告诉你们这话的，是怎样的人？”

亚哈谢也行亚哈家的道；因为他母亲给他主谋，使他行恶。

看哪，我站在门外叩门，若有听见我声音就开门的，我要进到他那里去，我与他，他与我一同坐席。

你竟行恶，比那在你以先的更甚，为自己立了别神，铸了偶像，惹我发怒，将我丢在背后。因此，我必使灾祸临到耶罗波安的家，将属耶罗波安的男丁，无论困住的、自由的都从以色列中剪除，必除尽耶罗波安的家，如人除尽粪土一般。凡属耶罗波安的人，死在城中的必被狗吃，死在田野的必被空中的鸟吃。这是耶和华说的。’所以你起身回家去吧！你的脚一进城，你儿子就必死了。以色列众人必为他哀哭，将他葬埋。凡属耶罗波安的人，惟有他得入坟墓；因为在耶罗波安的家中，只有他向耶和华以色列的神显出善行。耶和华必另立一王治理以色列。到了日期，他必剪除耶罗波安的家；那日期已经到了。耶和华必击打以色列人，使他们摇动，像水中的芦苇一般；又将他们从耶和华赐给他们列祖的美地上拔出来，分散在大河那边；因为他们做木偶，惹耶和华发怒。因耶罗波安所犯的罪，又使以色列人陷在罪里，耶和华必将以色列人交给仇敌。”

然而，他贴近尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列人陷在罪里的那罪，总不离开。

约兰见耶户就说：“耶户啊，平安吗？”耶户说：“你母亲耶洗别的淫行邪术这样多，焉能平安呢？”

她就出去对她母亲说：“我可以求什么呢？”她母亲说：“施洗约翰的头。”

暗利的儿子亚哈行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，比他以前的列王更甚，犯了尼八的儿子耶罗波安所犯的罪；他还以为轻，又娶了西顿王谒巴力的女儿耶洗别为妻，去侍奉敬拜巴力，在撒玛利亚建造巴力的庙，在庙里为巴力筑坛。亚哈又做亚舍拉，他所行的惹耶和华以色列神的怒气，比他以前的以色列诸王更甚。

耶罗波安王就筹划定妥，铸造了两个金牛犊，对众民说：“以色列人哪，你们上耶路撒冷去实在是难；这就是领你们出埃及地的神。”他就把牛犊一只安在伯特利，一只安在但。这事叫百姓陷在罪里，因为他们往但去拜那牛犊。耶罗波安在邱坛那里建殿，将那不属利未人的凡民立为祭司。耶罗波安定八月十五日为节期，像在犹大的节期一样，自己上坛献祭。他在伯特利也这样向他所铸的牛犊献祭，又将立为邱坛的祭司安置在伯特利。他在八月十五日，就是他私自所定的月日，为以色列人立作节期的日子，在伯特利上坛烧香。
