约拿从鱼腹中向耶和华他的神祷告，说：“我从患难中求告耶和华，他就应允我；我从阴间的深府呼求，你就垂听我的声音。

与智慧人同行的，必得智慧；与愚昧人为友的，必受亏损。

在患难的日子，你呼求我。我必搭救你，你也必尊敬我。”

他求告我，我必应允他；他在患难中，我必与他同在；我必拯救他，使他得尊荣。

法老走近的时候，以色列人举目观看，看见埃及人正追赶过来，就非常惧怕，向耶和华呼求。

我爱耶和华，因为他听了我的声音、我的恳求。因为他留心听我的恳求，我一生一世要求告他。

耶和华啊！我从深处向你呼求。（本节在《马索拉文本》包括细字标题）主啊！求你听我的声音，求你留心听我恳求的声音。耶和华啊！如果你究察罪孽，主啊！谁能站立得住呢？但你有赦免之恩，为要使人敬畏你。

众战车队长看见约沙法，就都心里说：“这必是以色列王。”于是都绕过去攻击他。约沙法呼救，耶和华就帮助他；神又使敌人离开他。
