Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders,“ Do not fight with anyone, small or great, except the king of Israel.”

The king of Aram had given an order to his 32 chariot commanders. He had said,“ Fight only against the king of Israel. Don’t fight against anyone else.”

Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots,“ Fight with neither small nor great, but only with the king of Israel.”

Meanwhile, the king of Aram had issued these orders to his thirty two chariot commanders:“ Attack only the king of Israel. Don’t bother with anyone else!”

Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders,“ Do not fight with anyone at all except the king of Israel.”

王應當這樣：把諸王廢除、各撤職位，立軍長來代替他們；

先是亞蘭王吩咐他的戰車長說：『無論小將大將、你們都不要跟他交戰，只要跟以色列王交戰。』

亞蘭王便哈達集合了他的全軍，又有三十二個王跟着他，以及馬匹車輛：他上來圍困撒瑪利亞，攻打那城。

擄了其中的婦女和所有的人、無論大小，都沒有殺死一人，只是帶着上路走了。

這些人正在觀察徵兆，便急忙就着他的話抓住機會說：『是王的盟兄弟便哈達！』王說：『去領他來』；便哈達出來見王，王請他上車。便哈達對王說：『我父親從你父親所奪取的城市我都要歸還；你可以在大馬色立街市，像我父親在撒瑪利亞立街市一樣。』亞哈說：『我就憑這個約放你走。』便和他立約，放他走。神言人們的弟子中有一個人憑着永恆主的話對他的同伴說：『你打我吧。』那人不肯打他。他就對那人說：『你既不聽永恆主的聲音，看吧，你一離開我，就必有獅子撲死你。』那人一離開他，果然有獅子遇見了他，把他撲死。神言人的弟子又遇見另一個人，就說：『你打我吧。』那人就打他，將他擊傷。那神言人就去，用頭巾蒙着眼來化裝，在路旁等着王。王從那裏經過，他向王哀叫說：『僕人出戰在戰陣之中、忽有人轉來，帶了一個人來交給我、說：「你看守這人；倘若遺失不見了，就要將你的性命去代替他的性命；不然，你就必須交出一擔銀子來。」僕人正在東忙西忙，那人竟不見了。』以色列王對他說：『你的案件正是這樣；你已直截判斷好了。』他急忙把蒙眼的頭巾除掉；以色列王就認得他是神言人中的人。他便對王說：『永恆主這麼說：「因為你將我要殺滅歸神的人從你手中放走，故此你的性命就必須代替他的性命，你的人民就必須代替他的人民。」』

他們又擊打了房門口的人，使他們無論大小都眼目昏眩，以致找到累死也找不着房門。

在這地無論大小的都必死，不得埋葬；必沒有人為他們哀哭；沒有人為他們而刻劃身體，或使頭部光禿。

中午時候他們出發了；便哈達和幫助他的那三十二個王、正在草棚裏大喝大醉。
