But Micaiah said,“ If you ever return safely, the LORD has not spoken through me.” Then he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

Micaiah declared,“ If you ever return safely, the Lord has not spoken through me.” Then he added,“ Mark my words, all you people!”

Micaiah announced,“ Do you really think you will return safely? If you do, the Lord hasn’t spoken through me.” He continued,“ All of you people, remember what I’ve said!”

And Micaiah said,“ If you return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said,“ Hear, all you peoples!”

But Micaiah replied,“ If you return safely, it will mean that the Lord has not spoken through me!” Then he added to those standing around,“ Everyone mark my words!”

But Micaiah said,“ If you actually return safely, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

But Micaiah said,“ If you ever return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said,“ Take heed, all you people!”

And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, Jehovah hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, ye peoples, all of you.

But Micaiah said,“ If you ever return safely, the Lord has not spoken through me.” Then he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

Micaiah said,“ If you really do safely return, then the LORD has not spoken through me.” Then he added,“ Take note, all you people.”

Micaiah said,“ If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said,“ Listen, all you people!”

Listen, all you peoples; pay attention, earth and everyone in it! The Lord GOD will be a witness against you, the Lord, from his holy temple.

If these men die naturally as all people would, and suffer the fate of all, then the LORD has not sent me.

David himself calls him‘ Lord.’ How, then, can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.

and said,“ You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery, you son of the devil and enemy of all that is right. Won’t you ever stop perverting the straight paths of the Lord?Now, look, the Lord’s hand is against you. You are going to be blind, and will not see the sun for a time.” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

Elijah responded to the captain,“ If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.

Summoning the crowd again, he told them,“ Listen to me, all of you, and understand:Nothing that goes into a person from outside can defile him but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn’t answer him a word.Then Elijah said to the people,“ I am the only remaining prophet of the LORD, but Baal’s prophets are 450 men.Let two bulls be given to us. They are to choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and place it on the wood but not light the fire. I will prepare the other bull and place it on the wood but not light the fire.Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the LORD. The God who answers with fire, he is God.” All the people answered,“ That’s fine.”

The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, disaster, and plague against many lands and great kingdoms.As for the prophet who prophesies peace— only when the word of the prophet comes true will the prophet be recognized as one the LORD has truly sent.”

Elijah responded,“ If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.” So a divine fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.

But Micaiah said,“ If you ever return safely, the LORD has not spoken through me.” Then he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

who confirms the message of his servant and fulfills the counsel of his messengers; who says to Jerusalem,“ She will be inhabited,” and to the cities of Judah,“ They will be rebuilt,” and I will restore her ruins;

At the time for offering the evening sacrifice, the prophet Elijah approached the altar and said,“ LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that you are God in Israel and I am your servant, and that at your word I have done all these things.Answer me, LORD! Answer me so that this people will know that you, the LORD, are God and that you have turned their hearts back.”

Listen to this message that the LORD has spoken against you, Israelites, against the entire clan that I brought from the land of Egypt:

But the prophet who presumes to speak a message in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods— that prophet must die.’You may say to yourself,‘ How can we recognize a message the LORD has not spoken?’When a prophet speaks in the LORD’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
