Then Micaiah told him,“ In a vision I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said,‘ Their master has been killed. Send them home in peace.’”

Then Micaiah answered,“ I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the Lord said,‘ These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.’”

Then Micaiah answered,“ I saw all the Israelites scattered on the hills. They were like sheep that didn’t have a shepherd. The Lord said,‘ These people do not have a master. Let each of them go home in peace.’ ”

And he said,“ I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said,‘ These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.’”

So Micaiah said: I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd. And the LORD said,“ They have no master; let everyone return home in peace.”

So he said,“ I saw all Israel Scattered on the mountains, Like sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said,‘ These people have no master. Each of them is to return to his house in peace.’ ”

Then he said,“ I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said,‘ These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace.’”

And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and Jehovah said, These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.

So Micaiah said: I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said,“ They have no master; let everyone return home in peace.”

And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.

Micaiah said,“ I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains like sheep that have no shepherd. Then the LORD said,‘ They have no master. They should go home in peace.’”

He said,“ I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said,‘ These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”

Give them someone who will guide them wherever they go and will lead them into battle, so the community of the Lord will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

An Aramean soldier, however, randomly shot an arrow at the Israelite troops and hit the king of Israel between the joints of his armor.“ Turn the horses and get me out of here!” Ahab groaned to the driver of his chariot.“ I’m badly wounded!”The battle raged all that day, and the king remained propped up in his chariot facing the Arameans. The blood from his wound ran down to the floor of his chariot, and as evening arrived he died.Just as the sun was setting, the cry ran through his troops:“ We’re done for! Run for your lives!”

Household gods give worthless advice, fortune tellers predict only lies, and interpreters of dreams pronounce falsehoods that give no comfort. So my people are wandering like lost sheep; they are attacked because they have no shepherd.

“ What sorrow awaits the leaders of my people— the shepherds of my sheep— for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for,” says the Lord.Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to these shepherds:“ Instead of caring for my flock and leading them to safety, you have deserted them and driven them to destruction. Now I will pour out judgment on you for the evil you have done to them.

As I looked, I saw a great storm coming from the north, driving before it a huge cloud that flashed with lightning and shone with brilliant light. There was fire inside the cloud, and in the middle of the fire glowed something like gleaming amber.

You have not taken care of the weak. You have not tended the sick or bound up the injured. You have not gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost. Instead, you have ruled them with harshness and cruelty.So my sheep have been scattered without a shepherd, and they are easy prey for any wild animal.They have wandered through all the mountains and all the hills, across the face of the earth, yet no one has gone to search for them.

“ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Look, Jeremiah! What do you see?” And I replied,“ I see a branch from an almond tree.”And the Lord said,“ That’s right, and it means that I am watching, and I will certainly carry out all my plans.”Then the Lord spoke to me again and asked,“ What do you see now?” And I replied,“ I see a pot of boiling water, spilling from the north.”“ Yes,” the Lord said,“ for terror from the north will boil out on the people of this land.Listen! I am calling the armies of the kingdoms of the north to come to Jerusalem. I, the Lord, have spoken!“ They will set their thrones at the gates of the city. They will attack its walls and all the other towns of Judah.I will pronounce judgment on my people for all their evil— for deserting me and burning incense to other gods. Yes, they worship idols made with their own hands!

( In those days if people wanted a message from God, they would say,“ Let’s go and ask the seer,” for prophets used to be called seers.)

He saw the sky open, and something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners.In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and birds.Then a voice said to him,“ Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.”“ No, Lord,” Peter declared.“ I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean.”But the voice spoke again:“ Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven.Peter was very perplexed. What could the vision mean? Just then the men sent by Cornelius found Simon’s house. Standing outside the gate,

“ My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.

Then Micaiah told him,“ In a vision I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said,‘ Their master has been killed. Send them home in peace.’”“ Didn’t I tell you?” the king of Israel exclaimed to Jehoshaphat.“ He never prophesies anything but trouble for me.”

“ The Israelites are like sheep that have been scattered by lions. First the king of Assyria ate them up. Then King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon cracked their bones.”
